Mieko waved to the lady in charge and scooped up the young child. "Did you have a good day?"
The child nodded enthusiastically. Her mouth formed a small "o" when Mieko whispered something into her ear.

The young woman cocked her head slightly, steadily continuing to pet the star-marked tabby. Curiosity was piqued, though she had a thought.

"My name's Uta-chan!" Uta said, smiling over her sister's shoulder at Arisu.

Arisu smiled in return, waving back. "Hello, Uta-san," she said, finding herself already enjoying the duo's company. Uta certainly was a cute kid.

"What's your name?" Uta asked.
Mieko just smiled, knowing Uta would find her way into Arisu's heart in no time. She turned a corner onto the street her house was on, glad that she lived so close to the daycare.

Arisu nodded, chuckling softly. "I'd like to hear those, Uta-chan. Would you tell me some of them?"

Uta smiled and nodded.
Mieko set Uta down and stepped to the left and looked in the bush. "I see you there, Jiro. This is bordering on creepy, even for you," she said, giving the bush a flat look.
"How do you do that!" Jiro snapped, standing up with a few sticks and leaves in random places.

Arisu simply shook her head, though still smiling. A bit odd to be hiding in a bush, perhaps, but first impressions usually weren't right.
