Yeah. I think they were trying to pacify fans with filler while they worked on the better episodes of shippuden in between.

Hmm. I see. I do have to wonder, though:
I caught this one episode while at a cousin's house, and it looked like absolute garbage (sorry, but I don't know what season it was from). I can understand unrealistic powers, being a fantasy author and all, but pulling your spine from your back and using it as a sword!? What's the deal with that?
The other episodes I've seen clips of at least look interesting, XD. But that looks like an episode to skip when I get around to watching it.
