As Leo admitted to the rather boring nature of the jingle ball, and produced another one, that squeaked instead, Topaz watched with some fascination as the Persian proceeded to thoroughly demonstrate the toy, for a brief moment actually seeming to be enjoying himself, which only increased Topaz's disdain for the captive lifestyle, and left her bored with proceedings.
When he realised what he was doing, and swatted the toy towards her, Topaz gave him the courtesy of ignoring the fact that she had just caught him out in the midst of his guilty pleasure. But she was fast growing bored, and her capture was still weighing down on her heavily. "No thank you," she said, her voice regaining it's sad, almost lost tone, as she struggled to figure out what her purpose was as a captive Pokemon.
"Look, I'm not interested, Leo," she said as politely as her fractured temper would allow, trying to dissuade the male from demonstrating any more of his toys. "I just...I want to go back home..." she said sadly, before wandering over to an unoccupied corner of the room, curling up and lying down there, just trying to put this horrible incident out of her mind...even it was just for a little while, she just wanted to pretend this never happened, that she was still in her den in the wild, where she belonged.

"What is home?" Leo asked, smirking. "Home can be anything. It can be a person, a place, or a thing, or even a familiar smell. For me, home is a warm bed and a safe place to sleep at night. I can be home anywhere, why can't you?" he asked, nudging her with a paw.
To him, longing for the wild seemed incredibly silly. They had everything they could possibly need right here. Food, shelter, entertainment, what more did she need?

A single green eye snapped open as Leo posed his question, Topaz showing her growing irritation in that single-eyed gaze. As Leo continued to speak, seemingly trying to persuade her that this...prison...could become her new home, her frayed temper finally gave out somewhat? "Oh, yeah?" she snapped. "Well, for me, home involves fresh air, warm sunlight, cool breezes, and the freedom to go where I please, when I please. This is not a home...it's a prison!" she cried, before curling up into herself, shaking.
Her description of the freedom of the wild had left her with a bout of claustrophobia, the four walls around her appearing to close in on her as she buried her head in her curled-up form, screwing her eyes shut. She just wanted to leave this place...find her old den, and live her life the way it had been. But she still mumbled loudly through her own fur, not quite finished with her rant. "Out there, I was free. In here...I'm nothing but a prisoner to the whims of those cursed humans! They obviously pamper and brainwash you, but I won't give in to them. I'll get out of here one day!"
The pale-furred Persian practically screamed the last part out, but still did not move, determined not to break...not to cry in front of this pet Persian. She would prove she was stronger, that wild Pokemon were better than their captive counterparts.

"The way you talk about it makes it sound a bit like the realm of Arceus on earth," Leo snorted. "But I do not understand why you would want to do things yourself when you can train humans to do it for you in return for simply battling other pokemon in return."
Though she did indeed have him thinking. Was this really a prison or was he in the right?
