How did any of you like it? Mine has regrettably gone to the great beyond and won't save my game anymore also erased my file. It did suck, but I loved the game as a whole. The fact that you could get Ho-oh AND Lugia was just amazing. Lugia was my best at 99. >.> Yes I ONLY used him or Entei.

Crystal was and remains one of my all time favorites. My game fortunately still saves, and I restarted about two months ago and was playing it off and on. I'm already at Kanto. ^_^ The one thing that the Johto games need more of is plot extension, but I sort of took care of that in Rising Darkness (RP/fannovel project of mine). So, I'm more or less satisfied with the Gen II games on whole. They introduced some interesting pokemon, definitely many fodder ideas, and gave more information on some of my favorite characters.
But, for me, espeon and dragonite are my two most used. Then it's followed by lugia and typholsion. ^_^

Crystal really is my favorite Pokemon game, for most of the same reasons that you two pointed out. It was such an improvement over R/B/Y... the music was well-composed, the graphics were colorful and lively, and being able to go to both Johto AND Kanto was just great. And then there was the connectivity with Pokemon Stadium 2... Man, so much effort went into making Crystal, it's insane.

I wish there was a way to fix my cartridge. If there was I would totally do it, but I don't know how it became that damaged. I take really good care of my games you know?

Yeah, sometimes there is a way to change the internal battery on older cartridges, but at this point it would probably be better to just get HeartGold or SoulSilver.
They have all of the same features as Crystal did, as well as the pokewalker and connectivity with fourth generation games.

When it really comes down to it, though, HeartGold and SoulSilver just don't have that unique charm that Crystal had. Maybe it was the ancient graphics, or even the silly little Game Boy chiptunes... I don't know. I guess I'm just biased towards retro games. XD

I, too, am biased toward retro games.
I'm just saying that it would probably be better at this point due to the connectivity.

I don't think it is, because all of the features from Crystal were already included in HG and SS. Including the ability to get BOT Lugia and Ho-Oh

You can get both of them? Huh... I guess I just haven't played much SS yet. D:
In fact, I'm going to get offline and go play some. You can still go to Kanto in HG/SS, right?
