The alarm clock clamored into Zorayda's senses, popping the little bubble of soft dreams inside her head as she slowly woke up to hit it irritably. She'd been dreaming of the equivalent of a romance novel, complete with beefcake, swooning, and burning passion... only to have it interrupted by a stupid clock. What a bummer.
She threw the blankets off of herself, stretching and pushing her purple hair out of her face. A vaguely warm spot next to her feet told her that her eevee had recently been invading the bed, as she did every night with her mistress. The Pokemon trainer smiled to herself as she stepped into her slippers. The sun began to filter through the blinds, lighting the small apartment and illuminating the Poke balls on her dresser. The ones that contained her ponyta, Shasta, and her pidgey, Argren. Her eevee's name was rather unoriginal--Eeve--but she was the one the trainer had owned the longest.
She scuffed into the kitchenette and poured herself a cup of coffee from her automated coffeemaker and plopped into a plain, old wooden chair at a small table. Time for another day...
But where was Eeve?
The young fennec was usually prancing to meet her mistress and eager to be petted. This morning, she didn't seem to be anywhere...
Perhaps she's just eating? Zorayda thought to herself, but when she got up to check around the corner, Eeve wasn't there, either. The Poke ball that usually contained the small fox was empty, too. The trainer jolted up and began frantically searching under things, around things, anywhere... where had the eevee gone???
But then... she saw it. A broken pane of glass behind the venetian blinds. A small, puppy-sized hole was visible.
Could Eeve have... run away?
Zorayda ran outside quickly in her pyjamas and began calling for her lost eevee, tears streaming down her face in distress. Eeve couldn't be gone... she just couldn't be...

"Brat!" "Jerk! "Brat!" "Jerk!" Once again, the Collins siblings were bickering. But, then again, when weren't they? "Stephen, you're a idiot. If we go that way, we'll get lost," Rowen chastised her older brother, brushing a strand of hair from her eyes. "Well, Row, if people didn't get lost, they would never find legendaries. Like Ho-oh," Stephen said and his sister groaned. "Get it through that blonde brain of yours, will you? You are NEVER, ever, gonna catch Ho-oh. I have a better chance of becoming the champ of Johto..." Stephen was glaring at his sister, but quickly heard a rustling sound. "What's that noise?" He whispered and Rowen shrugged, reaching for the pokeball that held Gold her Cyndaquil. Something was there all right...

Zorayda kept looking frantically, even though her eyes were blurred with tears. She looked a mess, with her mascara from yesterday smeared across her face, her hair frizzy from sleep, and her pyjamas wrinkled above her bunny slippers... she saw a pair of trainers and approached them, not really caring how she looked at the moment.
"Have you seen a little gray eevee?!" she asked desperately. "She's a shiny, and she has a little silk... scarf..." she stopped mid-sentence to look at the ground, where Eeve's scarf lay in tatters. Choking back a sob, she knelt to pick it up. "Eeve..."
She whirled around again to face the two trainers, aware that she probably looked crazy.
"Please, you must help me find her! There are sh-shroud Pokemon out there, a-and she might g-get hurt, I don't know where she went... please..." now Zorayda had completely broken down, fat tears rolling down her cheeks. The young woman held the scarf to her chest, worried endlessly about her young eevee.

Stephen glanced at his sister and mouthed, 'people from Johto are weird. Sorta hot, but weird,' Rowen rolled her eyes, but smiled slightly. Stephen was always thinking some girl was hot. No wonder Rowen was only friends with guys, she noted. If she was friends with girls, Stephen would hit on them. "Sure, we'll help. But, first what's a shroud pokemon?" The blue eyed trainer wondered, Stephen nodding in agreement. "Yeah? First, I'm Stephen and this is my little sister, Rowen," Rowen groaned. "I'm two years younger..." She complained, releasing Gold from her pokeball. Mako was currently training with Chase in Hoenn and Saturn with her oldest brother as well, leaving her with only the fire type. "Hey, Gold? Can you smell any other pokemon around here?" She asked.

Zorayda sniffled and wiped at her eyes, her hands trembling.
"Shroud Pokemon are possessed by some evil aura or something... they're much stronger and more vicious than normal Pokemon and they have to be caught by special means," she explained miserably. "Eeve could be attacked by one of them, and she m-might get hurt or die or..." Zorayda stopped herself when her throat began to close up.
She looked up as they spoke and nodded as they introduced themselves.
"I'm Z-Zorayda... a trainer. Thank you for helping..." she murmured softly, wrapping her arms around herself.

"Hi, Zorayda-" Stephen was cut off by a rustling in the bushes, and he frowned, reaching for the pokeball that held Totodile. "Stand by," he said simply releasing the small blue pokemon. Totodile appeared in a rush of red light at his trainers feet, excited. He, like his trainer, loved to battle.
"Evil aura?" Rowen said with a scowl. She was sensitive to aura...always had been. Normal auras gave her headaches from time to time...no telling what a evil one could do to her. All of a sudden, a pidgey come out of the bushes. Rowen started to sigh in relief till she saw it's eyes. Was this one of the pokemon she had just been told about? The pidgey lunged at Gold and Rowen cried out. "Gold! Use Ember!" The small pokemon nodded, shooting a spray of spark like flames at the bird pokemon, knocking it back a little whiles, but also seeming to make it even more angry.

The faint sounds of rustling foliage made Zorayda startle a bit, and she looked down to see a Shrouded Pokemon--a pidgey-- come out and attack. Her heart immediately clenched in fear for Stephen and his totodile, and she reached out a hand.
"D-don't!" she yelled, but Rowen was already eagerly sending her own Pokemon after it. "It's dangerous, it's stronger than normal and much more vicious!" Zorayda called hopelessly. "Pull back and get away from it!"
(btw, I think there's some kind of system where you have to get permission from admins to battle in this particular RP area.)

Rowen frowned, but quickly did as the older trainer ordered. "Gold!" She said sharply and the small pokemon nodded, running back to her trainers side, cowering. Stephen sighed in frustration, but recalled Totodile. He gave his sister a worried glance. "You okay?" He whispered. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just the aura coming from that thing is killing my head," Rowen then glanced at Zora. "If we can't fight it, what can we do?" She said bitterly.

Zorayda gave a sigh of relief as the trainers recalled their Pokemon, the pidgey still shrieking horribly. Its baleful gaze was turning towards them, now...
"If we can't fight it, what can we do?" Rowen said bitterly.
Zorayda pointed at the pidgey earnestly, indicating its intention to hurt them.
"I think we'd better run first! Follow me!" Zorayda called, and began running back towards her apartment. There, they could get protection from the Pokemon and she could pick up her two trained Pokemon, Argren and Shasta. They could provide backup in case they needed it. Zorayda sensed that she'd have to do a lot of explaining to the two new Pokemon trainers when they finally settled down...

"Good idea," Stephen said nodding, giving his sister a sharp glance. "Don't you even think about trying and fighting that...Chase will kill me if you get hurt," he shook his head. One of the few things that scared him was when Rowen and his oldest brother was mad. The siblings followed Zorayda, Rowen still trying to focus on anything but the strength of her headache. That evil aura was something else...
