Name:[/i] Elena Nesrin Rozanne
Age:[/i] 17
Gender:[/i] Female
Race:[/i] Human
Homeland:[/i] Jacole
Appearance:[/i] She stands roughly 5’4, and weighs about 106 pounds. Her lithe form is toned and lightly tanned, though she is still a bit stronger than she looks at first glance. Elena’s hair falls to her shoulders in a wave of deep umber, the ends slightly frayed. Its occasionally tied back with an emerald green ribbon into a high queue, but not very often. Her eyes are varying shades of green, dark emerald at the outside, and almost a pale jade around the pupils.
- Attire: Elena usually adorns a simple white tunic and viridian green trousers, these become looser fitting after the hips and is cropped just below the knees, belted with a plain brown and unornamented one. Her boots go past her ankles by roughly two inches, and are a slightly scuffed black with steel tipping the toes and going in bands around the ankles. While her garments are unassuming for the most part, the silver and mythril scabbard that hangs from the belt is enough to catch one’s eye. She often carries a beige satchel, in which she keeps her smaller gil-bag and a change of garments. Though, judging from the fullness of it, the satchel carries a bit more than that.
Her other set of garments include a similar white tunic, though its sleeves are cropped and a wild rose pattern is embroidered into it with green and scarlet thread. While she still adorns her usual boots with this set, her other pair of black trousers are closer fitting like the tunic, and fall to the tops of her boots. A green cloak can usually be seen with this ensemble, varying from hanging open or concealing her face and form.
Weapons/Armor/Magic: [/i]
- Weapon: She calls her blade the “Dancing Dagger”, after hearing someone mention that she appears to be weaving like a said dancer with her weapon when battling.
The dagger itself roughly eight inches long, and smoothly curved. Its blade is steel, coated with a mixture of platinum and mythril. Its hilt is simple enough, plain metal of the blade and without leather grips that require replacement.
Other than knives or daggers, Elena is capable of fighting weaponless if need be.
- Armor: Elena wears very light armor, though the little bit she does have is very useful in certain terms. Steel tips the toes of her boots, and is in a ring around each ankle to help protect them. She also adorns guards around her forearms when searching for something in particular, occasionally accompanied by leather gloves with steel tipped knuckles.
- Magic: Although “Charka” is not directly magic, it can cure mild poisoning and temporary blindness with concentration.
Hobbies/Occupations: [/i]She enjoys ‘treasure hunting’, though when blatantly called a thief she will sometimes correct the said person with a threat (oftentimes accompanied by a feinted strike) if they insist. Being called a ‘common thief’ is rather an insult to her, as she does not “obtain” anything less than worth while or worth the risk – This being in actual hunting, or self assigned tasks.
Skills/Abilities:[/i] Light footed and agile, Elena uses her lithe form to full advantage in battle among other things (such as applying it to acrobatics). She’s also skilled in lockpicking, as shown by the amount of plunder she sometimes has. While she also would prefer not to pickpocket for gil anymore, she gained a good amount of skill in doing so when she survived off of that and doing sketches for people. The latter, with practice, aided her in recalling details and appearances of the ones around her and ones she had encountered beforehand.
Personality:[/i] A bit cool and standoffish, she is more than likely to ignore than acknowledge someone whom she doesn’t care for, unless they persist. Then Elena has been known to snap at the said being, having no hesitance about it. But, underneath her somewhat icy demeanor at first encounter, she has the capability of being playful and mischievous, as well as displaying kindness beyond feigning. More often than not she is frustrated with herself, and with the blatant arrogance of some that turned her into what she is now.
Elena does long for companionship, and someone that would actually care … But it takes much for that to surface, much less her admit it. She fears being cast aside when someone is tired of her, or just bored. As she hates even feeling fear, believing it to say she’s weak, that in turn makes her both angered and frustrated. While Elena does well in hiding her turmoil, it steadily eats away inside of her. Sooner or later, she knows that she’ll break down from it. All she cares is that no one sees her tears, saying:
“The rain always manages to hide my fears.”
When she finds someone does actually care for her, she tends to be very protective of them, and tries to make sure she stays in their personal values. But, growing up where she did, she tends to think that thieves are fairly common elsewhere; merely to survive. Despite that, she knows where to draw the line when it comes to her “profession”. Yet, the one thing she can’t resist is emeralds. Their color and general appearance more or less enrapture Elena, especially pendants or earrings studded with them.
But, also when it comes to the object of her affections (friends and her “Other”), she’ll do her utmost to protect them. Even if it means putting herself in line of attack, if necessary. Even though she is somewhat emotionally unstable, her very emotions drive her … Sometimes even unleashing power she didn’t even know she had.
Bio/History:[/i] Growing up in Jacole as the daughter of a servant to a wealthy person, she was well accustomed to being trounced on by the higher up servants and receiving the lesser chores. This more or less just annoyed her, but she put up with it so she could take her solace in drawing later in the day. Considering she was only seven at the time her work was rather good, having an eye for the whole concept. Doing so regularly taught her to notice and remember even small details as she grew older, also teaching her who to avoid and to what extent.
Although she never knew her father, she was satisfied enough with just her mother for some time. Her mother taught her independence, but also as much schooling as she possibly could. Elena ended up alone, however, when illness swept through Jacole. She remained a servant at the ‘house’, though then turned to pickpocketing to have enough money to survive on. Within half a year, by the time she was nine, she had become quite good at it and all in all left.
That was a bit of a mistake on her part, seeing as it took her several weeks to find steady shelter from weather and the like. But, Elena grew accustomed to it after a while, taking up residence on the outskirts of the town. She continued to learn by using her pickpocket-gil to buy the expensive tomes, but obviously on her weaker subject she didn’t glean much. At fourteen she flat out stopped pickpocketing, having grown weary of it and finding it both boring and shameful for such a small profit compared to the risk.
Turning to actual thievery certainly proved more exciting for her, as well as interesting. Having become a way of life for her years ago, this was only a larger target. But, being called a common thief by those that found her molded personality shaded, only succeeded in angering her.
Elena quickly moved on after gossip started that she was making off with their valuables, despite that she had only taken a few and spread across the entire town. With that she began traveling from age fifteen on, treasure hunting (both honest work and “prize” work) from town to town and selling what she didn’t need or want.
She found that it appealed to her in more than one way, but still missed steady companionship, but didn’t want to risk being caught or betrayed. Finally encountering Aaron and his Nakk Rafe, it was the first time she had felt at ease with people in general in years. Having their occasional spats and scuffles, yes, but it softened her hardened demeanor and brought her closer.
But her main weakness of having no worth to anyone was still a sore subject, especially to anyone that knew of it. Despite the tenderness of it, though, she hopes that Aaron won’t abandon her companionship when he has been with her for a little while. Fortunately, though unknowingly, some fears in life prove to make one both stronger as well as prove false at the same time.
Likes:[/i] Rain, certain valuables, certain people that can actually understand her, and people in general as long as they don’t bother her.
Dislikes:[/i] Hot days, any form of arrogance or belief that oneself is better than another, feeling reduced and not having any importance to anyone at all.
Weaknesses/Strengths: [/i]
- Weaknesses: While she prefers to be secluded, Elena actually wants to be around people that care for her. Someone degrading her personal worth hits the nail on the head, and is more than distracting, but tends to make her emotionally unstable at the same time.
- Strengths: Elena uses her lithe form to full advantage, executing many physical techniques with surprising agility.
Personal Treasure:[/i] A bejeweled pendant, on which a small emerald and ruby rose ornament hung from. It is often tucked inside of her garments, though it is no larger than a hummingbird egg, but she keeps it as a memento of her family.
