I thought it'd be best to clarify before the forum is overrun with shiny pokemon when we get more users:
Shiny pokemon are rare, rather like albino's in real life. Having tons of shinies does not make your character 'uber' or prove their 'awesomeness', it makes them Mary Sues. If you are going to give your character a shiny, apply moderation and common sense. Only one per character, tops. Preferably there won't be many shinies around, but it would be fair to allow these few.
