For those of you not in the know, TVtropes is a website that is difficult to describe, but enjoyable to experience. Simply put, it is an informal wiki that boils down the essential plot/characterization elements into "tropes," is responsible for many a wasted hour for those who have already discovered it. It'd probably be much easier to link to it, so here it is: The Time Sink, AKA TVtropes.Make separate posts for each character, please, as many tropes apply to them. Example format: Character Name: Tropes - [ul] [li] Trope Name [/li][li] Trope Name [/li][li] Trope Name [/li][li] Trope Name [/li][li] Trope Name [/li][li] Trope Name [/li][/ul] Double posting, with reason (such as to post one character behind another), is allowed in this thread.

Gabriel Altair (Mageblood)Tropes -- Shiny Midnight Black: Somewhat averted. Onyx.
- Blue Eyes:
- Tall, Dark, and Snarky: Oh yes. He is very witty with his insults.
- Tall, Dark, and Handsome: Certainly.
- Handsome Devil: When dealing with Serenity.
- Chick Magnet:
- Gentleman Snarker: When he insults someone, it is always with class.
- Sophisticated as Hell: He may not always dress like it, but take a glance at his old life as a high ranking Noble.
- Sharp Dressed Man: Again, his old life as a Noble.
- Too Many Belts: He generally likes to wear two at a time.
- Let's Get Dangerous: When he's ticked off.
- Our Vampires are Different: Actually, yes.
- Blood Lust: ... He is a vampire.
- Licking the Blade: Subverted. He licks Serenity's blood from his fingers after he heals her wound.
- Badass: Again, vampire. Superior strength, agility, and healing powers.
- Hypnotic Eyes: Another power of theirs, although the main supernatural one.
- Not So Invincible After All:
- Cruel Mercy: He's not above mutilation and then letting someone live as punishment, when it comes down to it.
- Chivalrous Pervert:
- Ladykiller in Love:
- Pet the Dog: Animals love him.
- Best Served Cold: Damian. Oy vey ...
- The Charmer: He enjoys being the tantalizing casanova.
- Thank Your Prey: It happens on occasion.
- Backhanded Apology: He's been known to do that.
- Kiss of Death: Obviously happens from time to time.
- Kiss of Life: Technically inverted as these vampires are nearly immortal. Applies when he changes Serenity.
- Dark is not Evil: Applies to both his appearance and race.
- Sliding Scale of Vampire Friendliness: Self explanatory.
- Now Let Me Carry You: Inverted. He takes it into his own hands. Whether being a gentleman or simply exercising his ego, is questionable.
- Slouch of Villainy: When he's bored.
- A Glass of Chianti: Couples with the former, except on a more rare occasion.
- It Gets Easier: After being alive for 1000 years, he has become at least somewhat numb to taking lives.
- Pretender Diss: Towards younger and inexperienced vampires whom let their instincts get the better of them.

Serenity Keriell (Mageblood):Tropes -- Hair of Gold: Played straight in appearance. But she's hardly naive.
- Green Eyes:
- Femme Fatale: Oh yes. She just doesn't like to use her appearance as leverage after her time as a slave.
- Black Magician Girl: Applies in terms of her magic, as it has always been focused in raw energies.
- Pure Energy: Her magic.
- Action Girl: If you expect her to stand by in a fight, you're in for a sore surprise. Likely with an energy-based knife embedded in you.
- Functional Magic: Inherit Gift qualification. A Mage's power comes from excess life energy running through their blood.
- Let's Get Dangerous: Usually when dealing with vampires, or someone has made the mistake of ticking her off in battle.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: It's true.
- Mark of Shame: The many fang-induced scars from years of being fed from as Lawrence's favorite pet, although the feeling was hardly mutual. Said scars cover the base of her throat on both sides, and are a very sore subject.
- Charm Point: Her eyes for the most part.
- Flung Clothing: She's thrown Gabriel's cloak back at him.
- Sarashi: Medieval version of a bra rather than corset. Who can be involved in obvious combat with their breasts getting in the way?
- Armor is Useless: Against a blade that isn't solid until it hits you, I'd say so.
- I Can Still Fight: Serenity to a T. She knows when to pull back most of the time, to try another angle or replan, but do not try her determination.
- Scr** You Elves: Subverted. How she feels about the 'superior' vampire race.
- Pet the Dog: She likes Aden's dog, and doesn't object to giving it a good scratch.
- Jerk With A Heart Of Gold: Her attitude towards vampires in general. She means to eradicate the race that has wronged humans so, even to the extent of not wanting to give the occasional vampire a chance.
- Think Nothing Of It:
- Don't You Dare Pity Me:
- Bad Dreams: She's been known to have restless nights, but usually nothing major beyond lack of sleep.
- Good is not Dumb: Serenity means well, and has wit as sharp as a knife.
- Darker and Edgier: As the tale goes on.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: Oh yes.
- Jade Colored Glasses: Towards some.
- Knight in Sour Armor: Growing up for her may have sucked, but she at least tries.
- Not so Different:
- The Un-Chosen One: She goes out of her way to escape her vampire master, Lawrence, and then joins a guild for training relating to magic and vampire-execution. From there on out, life gets a little odd.
- Full Contact Magic: Applies to her 'knives'.
- More Than Meets The Eye: It certainly applies.
- Tsundere: "Cold Shoulder" and the "Violent Approach" towards Gabriel most of the time, former more often than the latter.
- Vampire Hunter: Her self assigned mission in life.

Eva Kathe:Tropes -- Brainy Brunette: Oh yes. She knows decades worth of knowledge, just has never experienced it.
- Important Haircut: It starts off quite long, but she cuts half of it off in order to blend with a crowd better.
- Slipknot Ponytail: After she figures out how do to do something other than braid her hair.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: With proper guidance.
- Woman in White
- Adrenaline Makeover: Applies at times.
- Mismatched Eyes
- Eyes of Gold: Her right eye.
- Blue Eyes: Left eye. Icy blue in coloration.
- When She Smiles: She is still learning fundamentals of human interaction, really. And when she smiles, it does make her look quite a bit different.
- Emotionless Girl: Sort of. She has emotions, and while many recently are new to her, she is rather unsure of how to show them at times.
- First Time Feeling: She does get confused by a few new emotions from time to time.
- Action Girl
- Lady of War: Genetically engineered and trained so.
- Nerves of Steel: Battle doesn't even phase her.
- Training from Hell: Reason for the above.
- My Kung Fu Is Stronger Than Yours: See above. She also has combined it with gymnastics training to further enhance capabilities.
-
- When You Snatch The Pebble
- Super Senses: Everything but her sense of taste is enhanced. That, actually, is a little lesser than normal.
- Flash Step: Faster than normal humans.
- Super Strength: Also comes with being a super human.
- With My Hands Tied: She can do more than just plain attacks.
- I Can Still Fight : Due to advanced healing powers in her bloodstream. Although it makes things twice as painful, most injuries can be healed in six hours.
- Living Weapon: Inverted, but more or less.
- How Much More Can She Take?
- Pressure Point: She knows many of these.
- Sheathe Your Sword: In times of confusion at first.
- Standard Female Grab Area: Completely averted. She'd proceed to kick arse.
- You Can Barely Stand: It even afflicts super humans.
- Genius Brusier: Inverted appearance wise. But she still has the training to kick arse, and intelligently so.
- Beware of the Nice Ones: She's timidly polite, but may kill if she has to.
- Aerosol Flamethrower: A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Sometimes on accident.
- Improvised Weapon: She's capable of it.
- Skilled but Naive: So much.
- Baddass Unintentional: Aegis Arenas. Trying to earn a little money while in hiding from her creators kind of didn't work so well what with sudden recognition of her fighting skills.
- I Thought Everyone Could Do That: With some things. She knows she was restrained for supposedly having superior strength and agility.
- Chaste Hero: As she has absolutely no knowledge of physical adulthood other than why she bleeds ...
- Innocent Fanservice Girl: Subverted. Its mentioned, but doesn't actually happen. Refer to the above, which results in her first wave of embarrassment and shame when she learns of the man-to-woman boundaries.
- The Corruptible: As she doesn't know enough about subtle hints in language, someone could easily play their cards right with her. Also relates to the Skilled But Naive.
- Hero Self Deprecation: Inverted and subverted. She was never treated as a human except for by one person, always as a hopeful experiment and prototype, so she does not have the same view of herself that others would think she should.
- Not Even Human: Literal. Super human.
- Articial Human: See above.
- Not Quite Human
- Afraid of Needles: What with all of the added work done to her after birth, it is understandable.
- Hates Being Touched: Not quite "hates", but it is enough to make her ask why someone is touching her. See above.
- Leaning on the Furniture
- Quizzical Tilt: Oft when confused.
- Not So Invincible After All: Due to how her healing abilities work, if she is injured badly enough they can in turn kill her by the excess pain causing her vitals to go into overdrive.
- Terms of Endangerment: Happens once or twice, although she hasn't quite caught on to the purpose of said terms.
- Utility Belt: Usually a black one with leather pouches on it.
- Fish out of Water: Upon entering "normal" human society and interactions.
- Like a Fish takes to Water: She adapts quickly in some areas.
Her Aegis Suit (Blue Viper): Tropes:
