Part One characters:
Name: Ahava Nigma
Class: Oracle (3rd Class Staff/Light Magic User)
Nation: Ra Desert
Age: 22
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 121 lbs
Appearance: Ahava has long white hair and deep green eyes. Her skin is a fair tan due to her desert homeland. As with most magic users, her slim body cannot take very many physical hits, but her reflex training and previous battle experience has resulted in a fairly strong build (for a magic user); she can definitely take more than others. Her battle clothing consists of a light lilac armor vest covering her chest, upper back, and shoulders. Under the armor is a white leotard. The limited amount of armor keeps Ahava nimble and free from overbearing weight. She has a pair of strapped sandals that reach halfway up her calves. Long white gloves reach up her arms and help keep a good grip on her staff, as well as protect her from magic burns. Finally, she has gold chain around her head like a tiara. It holds a small sapphire between her eyes.
Biography: Ahava and her twin brother Evron were part of the Nigma family line, very prolific in those born with the Sight. Ever since birth the two seem to have a psychic connection to each other; they can always sense each other no matter how far away they are. As the age of 7, both were put under the apprenticeship of an old sage, who tested not only their divination skills, but also their reflexes. He predicted (correctly I might add) that their sense of the future could be used to dodge attacks and even predict possible weaknesses in foes.
As a result, at 16, they served the village guard fighting off bandits. Although young, their Seeing skills and nine years of training proved they were more than prepared for the job. They mainly served as tacticians, though Ahava proved more than capable of joining the warriors in skirmishes. They rose through the ranks and eventually became co-captains of their own unit. Ahava learned most of her skills battling in the sands. At 22, both began getting visions of a terrible catastrophe: an army of great power would wage war on all of Ephus, and the nations would fall to the might of one. The two argued over how to interpret this. Evron saw the fate as stone, pleading to his sister to join his wife and newborn son in escaping to the rural mountainside in the west, hoping for safety from this war. Ahava, however, believed the future could change; their world could be saved. This monster could be defeated, and their visions would play a vital role in their victory. After having a big argument over the matter, the two split ways. Evron quit the guard and began moving his family to the western shores, while Ahava stayed in her homeland to warn the elders of what was coming, so they could be more prepared.
But unfortunately, the war started far sooner than Ahava suspected. The majority of people living in the desert were right next to Bahamut’s base of power. Once the war started, they were the first casualties. Ahava knew her brother was still preparing to flee with his family. In order to protect her nephew, Ahava joined the fight. Even if she were wrong about changing fate, she would at least fight for her family’s survival.
Personality: Ahava was a strong-willed independent person; it was the driving force behind her desire to change the future. So strong was this desire, she often attempted to rally the hopeless into believing that it is possible to defeat great evil no matter the odds. It also fueled her determination to not be so dependent on others like her magical counterparts; she had trained with a battle rod since the age of 8. Her constant use of specific spells had allowed her to memorize them with no problems, allowing for far easier staff use without constantly carrying a tome in her hands. Of course, with all these abilities comes some arrogance. Ahava sometimes went over her head, especially when someone she knew was in trouble.
Weapons:
Battle Mace: Legendary Staff
A staff made specifically for physical fighting, the battle mace consists of a three foot iron rod and a large red spherical crystal attached to the top. Ahava uses this to defend herself against magic units and weak physical types. Magic from tomes is cast from the tip of her staff, and her memorization of the spells allows Ahava to hold the staff in two hands to either whack people or block some attacks. The downside: the heaviness of the staff results in slower casting of the desired spell.
Magical elements within the staff further strengthen Ahava’s defense and attack. Barrier spells are used to further protect from strong magic attacks to Ahara or someone around her. With her seeing abilities, Ahava could plausibly spin the staff in time to block a stray arrow.
Fortify Staff: A staff that can heal allies within her range. It raises health as well as hope in her fellow troops.
Crusader: Legendary Light Magic Tome
Ahava’s most trusted tome. It shoots two consecutive groups of needle-like projections of light magic into the foe. These needles sometimes erupt inside the foe, causing even more damage. A powerful tome, but whether she can test it on the demon behind this war, she cannot See.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Andor Siegnus
Class: Barbarian (Brigand --->Berserker --->Barbarian). Essentially, it’s a stronger berserker on horseback.
Nation: The area that would become Siegnus
Age: 28
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 189 lbs
Appearance: Andor is an intimidating man. His lack of a shirt shows off the scars of previous battles and well-toned muscles from years of hard labor. He does wear some clothes, such as the gray fur pants he usually adorns. His shoulder length black hair is kept in a small ponytail to ensure it doesn’t get in his face. His dark brown eyes give a cold stare to those that oppose him and even intimidate his allies. His leather boots are covered in armor leggings, a prize for defeating an enemy general. Also won from the same battle is the armor covering his left arm. With it, he can block and even grab blades with little injury.
Andor rides a seemingly common brown farm horse named Durango. The horse has been his most trusted companion for most of their lives.
Biography: Andor was born and raised in what would become the country named after him. He lived in a very warrior driven society; he held an ax before he could even walk. As a child, Andor learned to navigate the mountains of his homeland in order to watch for rival clans. It was on one of these walks that the young teenage brigand came across a creature no one had seen before: a Cyclops. It was a giant creature, its green skin giving off a foul odor. His warrior pride swelling inside of him, Andor quickly challenged the monster in an axe fight. It was the toughest he had ever been in, receiving several nasty scars to his chest. After two well-placed strikes behind the creature’s kneecaps, Andor delivered the final blow to the Cyclops’ head, winning the battle. He brought the eye back to his villiage, where he was celebrated as the first monster slayer. Little did they know that this was the beginning of a much larger invasion.
As he grew older, Andor took part in many more battles. He was an arena champion holding his own against foes as large as lion laguz. He fought a former general that joined a rival clan. Yet, his most challenging battles were those against monsters. He did not understand why they were here, but he did know how to defeat them. It was little wonder that the alliance of Ephus leaders summoned him to join their meeting. Though he offered details on where the monsters originated (in the mountains of his homeland), rather than block off the entrances, the leaders went with Dragon King Bahamut’s proposal to find the Fire Emblem and use against their foes. He could not have known what would conspire next.
With war on the rise and the betrayal by Bahamut, Andor was perfectly content in staying neutral in the mountains. He did have a new family to raise, not to mention his role as tribal chief. It was by the influence of Ahava Nigma that he saw what future awaited his people. They would not avoid the battle: they would become slaves to Bahamut’s wrath. The only way to change this fate would be to resist.
Andor united the brigand clans and joined the other nations on the battlefield to keep his people free from the tyrannical Bahamut.
Personality: Andor would have liked to be left well enough alone as far as world affairs were concerned. He was a private person, preferring to keep his world limited to his family, his village, and the surrounding mountains. His number of friends was smaller as a result, but he would fight to the death for them nonetheless.
Weapons: Ebony Axe: A giant axe made from the metals found in his mountainous homeland. The weapon is fairly large, reaching shoulder length to Andor, yet he is able to handle the extra weight that comes with the weapon. This weight combined with Andor’s own strength makes it ideal for slaying large monsters.
Tomahawk: A strong throwing axe used to take on distant enemies. It has the ability to return to Andor like a boomerang.
