I prefer writing succinct, descriptive, emotional poems...not long narratives. I'm guessing narratives are more popular? :<

Your open ended and open character-roles also gave an interesting light, not to mention there was actually light at the end of the tunnel for them. Something a lot of characters need.

Six Lessons to Change Someone's Soul

Laugh at me all your desire,
See if I even mind.
Your presence is nothing I require.
I'd care less if you talked from behind.

You're always so confident, so smug, so cold.
And you won't ever let anyone talk back!
Is it because you've no one to love and hold?
Unsurprising, considering the way you act.

What if I reached out to you
And offered you a hand to take?
Would you push that away too?
Or would you grab it, for change's sake?
I can open and show you a new world,
Show you things you've never seen.
I can pop the dirty bubble in which you're curled
All you gotta do is take my hand and trust me.

First you gotta learn to smile
And not evilly, like you always do.
I know this will take a while.
But inside, you're a natural for sure.

Second, you gotta learn to bow
Cause you'll never get anywhere on your own.
Please don't blush and ask me how
Cause this is something you gotta find alone.

Third, you gotta learn to control
And make sure you don't manipulate.
Let go of all the grudges you hold
And don't get violent when angry or afraid.

Fourth, you gotta learn to lie
And wear a mask right off the bat.
Sometimes, it's okay to break down and cry
And I'll be here if you need to do just that.

Fifth, you gotta learn to fight.
Don't let anyone drag you down.
Your sharp words are what will prove your might
And when you fall, never stay on the ground.

The sixth lesson is not something I can give
And trust me, it's not easily earned.
The sixth lesson is learning to live
By putting in action all that you've learned.
And if you do truly intend on winning,
I will be right here to hold your hand.
From the very first steps at the very beginning
Throughout the hardships, to the very end.
And if someday, somehow, you slip out of my reach
And we both decide it's time to loosen our hold,
I want you to find someone to whom you can teach

Mmk, done. In my head, this is in the POV of a school reject who is tired of the bully harping over him. The reject knows the bully only wants attention, and so, teaches to his worst enemy the six lessons required to get attention and not harm others at the same time.

Realize once again that I never mentioned genders or physical appearances.
