Name: Tyson Collins
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Homeland: Fucisha City, Khanto
Class/Job: Former Groundskeeper at Fucisha's Sarafi Zone...now a Trainer.
Appearance: At first glance, Tyson seems pretty normal. His dark skin is a result of both heritage and spending his days out in the sun at the Safari Zone. His slim, athletic build shows him as someone who, whilst not overly strong, has seen a life full a manual labour. His black hair is loose and wild, the ends hanging on his shoulders. His deep blue eyes generally shine with kindness, but every now and then one can see the sparks of something in his past that angers and drives him.
Tyson's attire is generally what sets him apart from others. His most striking piece of clothing is a bright yellow zip-up hooded jumper, and he is rarely seen without it on. He usually compliments that with a white t-shirt possessing the logo of the Safari Zone on the front, clearly visible when his hoodie is unzipped, and finally wears black cargo pants...although the last two items are often swapped out depending on his particular mood for the day.
When Tyson is in a darker state of mind...or simply wants to avoid using the bright colours that make him so easy to recognise, his attire generally changes. Replacing his bright yellow jumper is a long, dark grey trench coat, completely with a hood added on at Tyson's request. When he closes the front of it and pulls the hood up, it can nearly imposssible to tell who's under it shadowy folds. Beneath this coat, though, are his usual black cargo pants, along with a yellow t-shirt to replace the yellow jumper. Like his other noticable set of attire, the last two items are changed out as necessarry.
Hobbies/Occupations: Can often be found playing and wrestling with his Persian companion, and has a habit of writing when caught up in a particularly strong emotion, as a way to vent.
Skills/Abilities:
Skills: Tyson's habit of writing when he's in an emotional state has lent him some solid writing skills, although he's hardly a professional. He mas made a skill of writing while on the move, though, and can write with considerable finesse even while walking.
Abilities: Throughout his time at the Safari Zone, many of his co-workers have suggested that he has the ability to communicate with Dragon-type pokemon, considering how close he is to some of them. As far as he is aware, he possesses no such talent. He simply understands them, and they seem to understand him. But there may be an underlying ability behind the understanding, though, that he is unaware of...
Personality: Tyson often comes across as shy and closed-off around other trainers, but that's just his way of coping with strangers, as he follows the simply policy of “I'll leave you alone, and you'll leave me alone”, simply not wanting to attract attention to himself, having gotten enough of that with his accused “Dragon-Speaking” talents back at the Safari Zone. Around friends, which at the moment is nothing more than his pokemon companions, he changes, showing off a rather care-free, jovial side to him. When a situation turns serious however, he will change to match, and poachers really get on his nerves, considering his past with them.
Being very fond of his pokemon companions, he sees them as more than just tools for use in fights. His Persian is a constant companion, and he will let his other pokemon out frequently, refusing to neglect them. This in turn, makes his pokemon incredibly fond of him...he is a much their friend as they are his. If he was to ever find a human friend of his own, he would most likely have the same attitude towards them, doing everything in his power to show his appreciation for such company.
History: Born and raised in Fucisha City, Tyson had been drawn to the Safari Zone from a young age, a fascination his parents nurtured, eager to let him enjoy the outdoors, rather than become a shut-in. Both his parents had steady jobs around the city, and because they were not around to be with him too often, they got him a Meowth to provide him with some companionship. He had few human friends during his childhood, being much more fascinated with the Safari Zone, and the pokemon that could be found within. As Tyson grew, so did the Meowth companion, the two of them becoming exceptionally close, although Tyson did have to find ways of stopping the pokemon's fascination with shiny objects, so it did not end up stealing anything and causing a rather nasty scene.
During his adolescence, Tyson's fascination with the Safari Zone became more specific after he ventured into the Dragon-Type section of the park. Ever since then, he has been fascinated by the rare, majestic creatures, so much so that the Safari Zone eventually offered him a job working for them, which he happily agreed to, on the context that his Meowth could be with him, as the creature by this point never left his side. Tyson ended up being the main groundskeeper that took care of of and watched over the Dragon Pen, as most worker tended to call the section reserved for the dragon types, and he never had any intentions of leaving.
When he was about 15, he woke up one morning to find that his Meowth had evolved, leading to concerns, since Persians were known for being difficult to raise due to their tempermental nature...even towards their owners. In the end, such concerns were useless, as the Persian remained as affectionate towards Tyson as always...although it was now a little more aggressive around strangers. Tyson had always managed to bring it under control before it ever attacked anyone, however.
As Tyson reached adulthood, he ended up in an incident in the Safari Zone that changed his outlook. A group of poachers managed to infiltrate the Dragon Pen, attempting to kill a couple of Dratinis for profit. With no-one but his Persian, who was not the greatest fighter, Tyson found himself all-but powerless to stop them when he stumbled on the act. Fortunately, the Dragon Master Lance intervened, driving away the poachers, although they had managed to kill one Dratini, and wound the other, in the process. Due to his fascination with dragons, Tyson knew about Lance, and was amazed to get to meet him. But Lance did not stay for long, merely suggesting to him that he might make a good Dragon Master himself if he wanted, and to think about getting into training. Before leaving, Lance also suggested he capture the wounded Dratini, to help it recover, and raise it. After Lance left, Tyson thought on it, and eventually came to the conclusion that he would like to be able to stop incidents like this in the future, and while he had no ambitions of becoming a Dragon Master himself, he would like to raise a few dragon-types of his own, and decided it was time to head out and become a Trainer.
Capturing the wounded Dratini as his second pokemon (after the Persian), Tyson finally left to start his journey, slowly bringing the Dratini back to health, which earned him another companion that was highly fond of him. Despite becoming a trainer, Tyson made it a point to never catch pokemon he did not want, and also not to catch pokemon who were obviously happy with their life in the wild. He is now several months into his adventure, and as well as his Persian and Dratini, he also captured a Charmander living alone in the mountains, giving it a companionship he had guessed it desired.
