Personality:
Oh my God is this girl negative. She's not really quiet, and she voices her opinions about the world often. She has theories and philosophies about the world, most of them pessimistic. One of her favorites is that everyone has a selfish motive for every action they do. Even moving to save someone else's life is self-serving, because he or she doesn't want to live without the other.
She works in the back of the flower shop, because the girls there know that customers expect a florist to be sunny and charming, which Laila is NOT. Surprisingly, though, Laila finds peace in working with the flowers.
Laila can warm up to people, but they must first get through her pessimism. She loves people who will argue with her and debate intelligently. She also secretly likes optimistic people and looks up to them.
For Pokemon battles, she likes to teach Pokemon moves that are unexpected. For example, she'll teach a water-type Pokemon fighting moves and the like, just to mix things up and keep other trainers guessing at what moves each Pokemon has.
Biography:
She doesn't remember much from before she was little. All she knows is that she grew up in Floaroma, raised by pretty much the entire town. She used to dream that the shaymin that created the flowers there would come and whisk her away, to take her to see her real parents.
She works in the flower shop now, as a teen, but recently made the decision to become a trainer. The adults have all said that it would be good for her to do so, since she doesn't have a very happy outlook on life.
She found her first Pokemon in one of the trees--a combee. The combee moved to attack her, but it was stuck in the honey that was all over the tree bark. Despite the Pokemon's angry buzzing, Laila grudginly helped it out of the honey and it flew away. Days later, it started visiting Laila and bringing her small flowers and things. Eventually it stayed, and became her first Pokemon.
Strengths:
Laila knows when to laugh, and she can get through any tough times by making fun of it or seeing some sick, dark humor in it. She can laugh at herself and shake off insults, and she isn't easily bullied.
Weaknesses:
Seriously pessimistic. She's very sharp and cynical, and she doesn't make a lot of friends because of it. She also has the attitude of 'if I don't expect anything good, I'll be pleasantly surprised when something good does happen'. However, anyone who can ignore this will make a valuable friend in her.
