Same here. I would read books way above my reading level back in grade school, and the teachers became enraged. They accused my dad of reading the books to me as if I was too stupid too. Also, I was so interested in things like the Egyptians and world war 2, but my teachers told me I shoulldn't study those topics until way later. :<
I was a completely failure in math and none of the teachers cared. My english was good, but there was no opprotunity for me to excell. Finally, when I became homeschooled everything got in order. Now, I'm taking honors in math and last year I finished all my high school english. To me the public school system is just a waste of time.

I wish I could be home schooled. I stink at math, but am great at all the other subjects.

It's great, but not all that it's cracked up to be, though this is mainly due to other people. Alot of homeschool kids start public schooling when they get about highschool age. Others seem to keep to themselves; it's like a lot of us homeschoolers live in a whole or something once we get to highschool. Also, I've found a lot of homeschool mom's are a bit...fussy.

Looks like we've all been bitten by mainstream. Bleh. *Huggles.* And, yeah. A lot of parents don't want to try homeschooling into highschool, even though it'd really benefit their kids. I know I've benefited from being homeschooled. (And, yeah. My mom is a bit fussy over my schoolwork, so I can verify it.) Geez - They got mad at me for the same interest in Egyptology too. -What- is wrong with them? And I certainly don't doubt either of your reading abilities. I know you were/are capable of it.
