WerewolvesGeneral appearance:Taller than most folk, and younger-looking due to fast cellular regeneration. Usually quite strong and in-shape, and females are rarer (and more revered) than male werewolves. When angered, their eyes will change color to the pale amber associated with their inner wolf, but in the human world, they've managed to figure out how to contain this anger. Another note is that their skin feels feverish or as if they've just spent a day at the beach in the sun.
Overall behavior:Werewolves work closely as packs and follow miltary-like hierarchy--perhaps even harsher and more strict than they. There is always a male Alpha leading any pack, and he must be stronger and smarter than his underlings in order to remain as such. However, empathy and understanding are important, too, as the Alpha must protect his pack and his females.
The females in any pack are revered for their ability to produce more werewolves--without the violence of having to bite a human and bring the change. In order for the baby to be born alive, however, the female must stay in her wolf form and carry the baby to term--therefore bearing pups instead of human babies. The pups will quickly change into humans, however, and from the day they are born, the babes are in touch instantly with their inner wolf.
However, wolves are also incredibly sexist. Females cannot ever be Alpha and must be attached to a male for protection. She isn't treated badly, but females rarely ever have true power besides being able to negate her mate's commands if he is incapacitated.
Moonlight isn't a necessity for the change, but it does sing to the wolves' blood and make them crave the change and the thrill of hunting with their pack.
The Alpha may choose a Beta and establish a complete pecking order in the case that something may happen to him. The only wolves who can outrank Beta are Alpha and the Alpha's mate/wife.
This pack mentality is carried into their human selves, and they delight in overpowering the human subconscious. They are alert to body language and will use it to their advantage, since humans are so deaf to it. You will find werewolves in scattered, inconspicuous jobs, however--just in case the pack has to move. Werewolves tend to choose physical labor as a job, since their inner wolf prefers to remain active physically.
Wolf appearance:Depending on the race of person, you will get that region's type of wolf. For example, if you are Egyptian, you will more than likely become an Ethiopian wolf. Seeing as many wolves are Caucasian, you will more likely see timber and gray wolves than anything else.
These wolves have different musculature than their original counterparts--their shoulders are more heavily muscled and their hind legs often have shorter 'heels'. The tails are less bushy and shorter, as well. Werewolves' claws are slightly longer and their teeth are more razor-sharp than an ordinary wolf.
Current Packs:Werewolves have large packs and take up a certain amount of territory. Alphas are careful to keep to their own territory so as not to start pack wars. However, there aren't as many of them as one would think. In North America, there are four wolf packs, ranging from fourteen to thirty in strength. In South America, there are seven small packs ranging from six to ten, Europe, three, Asia, thirteen, Africa, ten, Australia, six. There are none in the Arctic or Antarctic regions.
