Me and 2gamers have been working about this one for some time now. We have worked up this rough draft.
Starlight Within the Darkness: A Star Fox RP
The story takes place in a time of relative peace in the Lylat system. The allied planets are focusing less on defense from mad scientists and alien invasions and more on exploring the universe around them. Astronomers have sighted an unknown system of planets. A previous team of explorers have been sent to the system, but all are MIA. The next team to be sent is not only tasked with exploring the system but also to find out the fate of the other explorers.
And so, a number of cadets, fresh out of the Cornellian Defense Academy, are tasked with this mission. Though all are experienced in space flight, many have secondary specialties in various sciences. However, almost none of them have experienced the wars that plagued their system. In case they do experience combat, they are assigned a former veteran to assist in the mission. The team is stationed inside their version of the Great Fox, their home for their arwings and themselves for the duration of the mission.
When they arrive at the system, they find that they are under fire from an enemy force. The surprise attack leaves only *insert number of characters* survivors. The main ship is destroyed in the assault as well. Since their arwings do not have enough fuel to make it back to Lylat, the survivors are left stranded in this unknown world. The remaining team begins scouting the planet for evidence of the enemy, life on the planet, and a way back home.
What they find astonishes them. This particular planet is filled with life, most notably a village of intelligent beings known as “humans”. Though they do not possess the technology of the explorers (primarily in terms of weaponry), they are no less intelligent for it. The human colonial villagers help the team out with food, treatment, and some information about where they are.
It’s not long after that the village is attacked by the same army that attacked the explorers. After a skirmish, the team ends up taking a hostage. The hostage tells them that the enemy is a group of smugglers under the command of an arms dealer. He is using the system as a proving ground for his creations, with the humans as target practice. The relative peace in Lylat has left the arms dealer penniless, which resulted in him preparing for another war. Whether that is started by a client or even himself, he would get his revenge. The humans are not defenseless, but their weaponry is not on par with energy shields and plasma lasers.
And so, the rest of the story would consist of the team assaulting various targets, stopping clients from getting deadly weapons, and preventing another catastrophic war on the Lylat System.
They also help out the humans whom are being victimized by the arms dealer as well as help any surviving civilian Lylat scientists from the fate of their dead colleagues.

Any Cornarian species that has appear in a Star Fox game is playable. In addition, don't be afraid to suggest species whom have not appeared in the game.
We need Cornarian cadet survivors as well as older officers that act as advisers. We also need Cornarian civilian scientist survivors as well as smugglers. Finally, some human colonists living in the remote colony would not hurt either.
The topography, flora, and fauna of the colonial planet are limited to the imagination.
