(OOC and sign-up thread--SPOTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!)
The pale wolf stood and stretched, her muscles trembling with the effort as her legs pushed forward. Her bones popped comfortably into place and she let out a satisfied sigh, but frowned when her stomach rumbled with hunger. It reminded her of her pack's current condition, their current troubles...
They'd moved here, near the Gulf of Claw, hearing that meals were plentiful, but apparently it had been a bald-faced lie. This land, though it had once seen lush and plentiful times, was going through the longest, toughest drought it had seen in hundreds of years.
And those damned cats aren't helping... she thought to herself. Though the felines had lived in the area far longer than the wolf pack, she couldn't help but feel contempt for them. They drank at the same river, hunted the same scarce prey... and they oft looked at each other with hatred. The pack generally stayed away from the pride, but there were still reports of scuffles and fights when arguments got heated. It was probably only a matter of time until there was going to be a full-blown battle on their paws...
"Hey, Aiko, watch this one!"
The indigo lioness swept into a dive, pulling her wings in. Her face held a look of complete ecstasy as the wind rushed past, ruffling her fur and her fringe. At the last second, just as she looked as if she'd crash into the grass, she pulled up, flapping until she was hovering thirty feet above her friend.
"That was very good, Zor," the large white lion sighed, resigned amusement in his cerulean eyes. The lioness grinned before fluttering down to land next to him.
"Next time, I'll practice my loops!" She giggled, clearly excited. Aiko chuckled and ruffled his friend's fringe, exposing her blinded right eye.
"I'll be there to critique them, as usual," he promised, but frowned when he saw her face. "You scratched yourself again. Zor, I told you to be careful..." he lectured.
Zorayda pouted at him.
"But you can fix it so easily!" She whined, and the white lion shook his head.
"But if I wasn't here, you'd be covered in scars," he countered. She simply looked at him with her large 'kitten eyes' until he gave in. As per usual.
"All right, hold still..." he said, and got close to her. He breathed lightly on her face and stepped back, her small scratch glowing. It healed up in an instant, without so much as a single sign that it had been there--save for a tiny patch of missing fur that would grow back quickly.
"Thanks, Aiko!" She chirped, licking his cheek. He rolled his eyes before heading off to be with the others of their pride, Zorayda trotting close by and chatting as they went.
