I was messing around with sprites, ended up with this. One backstory later, I decided to throw my hat into SoJ. There's probably something missing; I went ahead and posted this for feedback.
Name: [/i] Ziporah "Zippy" Araceli
Age: [/i] 12
Gender: [/i] Female
Hometown: [/i] Goldenrod City
Appearance: [/i] Zippy is a small girl at 4’6” and 86 pounds. Her long dark blue hair forms a pair of wings behind her head, courtesy of hair ties and a bit of gel. Her big blue eyes reveal her youth and innocence. Finally, Zippy has a spattering of freckles around her nose.
Due to circumstances explained in the bio, Zippy only has her stage outfit. The first part of this outfit is an elaborate coat. A set of gold-colored buttons and ropes keeps the maroon velvet closed, while a pair of gold-colored shoulder pads accentuates the outfit. The long, loose, white sleeves allow for movement and give the appearance of wings. The bottom of the back of the coat splits like a swellow’s tail. Underneath the coat, Zippy wears a navy blue short-sleeved leotard. Finally, she has a pair of black sneakers for traveling between towns.
Personality: [/i] Zippy is the kind of person who will get back on the horse after a hard fall. It takes a lot to discourage her. It helps that she’s quite the optimist. As a result, she often looks to see the best in people. When she does get mad or upset, she tries to get away and be by herself. She prefers to brood in private. Though she isn’t quite skilled in battles, that doesn’t stop her from trying when needed. That being said, she likes to avoid conflict
Biography: [/i] Though Ziporah “Zippy” Araceli was born in a hospital in Goldenrod City, she wasn’t raised there. Her family consisted of members of the Hanna Bros. Traveling Circus. The circus was formed many years ago by a band of street performers looking to bring their show on the road. They became more and more successful, especially during the dark age Johto was entering. Anyone looking for a bright spot in the world would find it when the circus came into town. The circus grew to include more members. These people became close: the band of unrelated people practically became family. Zippy was no different: she was raised among the clowns, jugglers, and various pokemon taking part in the shows. However, her role in the show was to be with her parents: the Araceli Acrobats.
As a young girl, Zippy began training for her part in her family’s acrobatic act. It started with basic tumbling, but it grew more advanced. Soon, she was skilled in tightrope walking and the trapeze. She was given the stage name “Tiny Tailow” for her ability to stay in the air for long periods of time (as in, she didn’t fall too often). Her skill grew as the circus traveled across Johto and even brief excursions to other continents. By the age of 12, she was ready for her debut in front of a large audience.
But it was not to be.
As the group was getting in another practice session, a fire broke out. There was so much confusion: Zippy could tell that there were violent pokemon battles outside. She didn’t have time to wonder why it was happening: the fire was spreading quickly. She managed to grab a bag of supplies and two of the younger pokemon within their pokeballs. With only the clothes on her back, she ran from the blaze, getting separated from the others. She made it out alright, but Zippy had no idea where everyone went, not even her parents. She could have moped around about their possible deaths, but being so optimistic, Zippy believed she would find them again soon enough. Her plan: head into the nearest town and set up her own act. Her skills, combined with some pokemon training, could easily draw in a crowd. Maybe, just maybe, someone from the audience would know something about her family.
It was a simple enough plan. What could go wrong?
Strengths: [/i] Coming from a family of acrobats, Zippy is gifted in agility and grace. Her skills could potentially be adapted for other feats like parkour or ice-skating, though it would take time to develop those skills. In addition, she values friends of all kinds. After all, they’re the only people she has.
Weaknesses: [/i] Being but a child, Zippy can be a bit naïve. Her tendency to trust everyone could be very dangerous in a world like Johto. Adult supervision is required . She also likes to force her optimism onto even the grumpiest of people. This could lead to some…disagreements.
Items: [/i] The bag Zippy grabbed contains an eclectic mix of items: a bottle of hair gel, two small bags of gummi bears, and the equivalent to $100 in money. Not exactly a survivor’s kit, but it should last a couple days.
Other Notes:[/i]
The Aracelis were secretly working for an organization out to topple the Rocket-Cipher Alliance. The pair used their skills to sneak into important buildings and gather crucial data on what the enemy knows as well as future attacks. While the mission was a success, the enemy launched a retaliatory attack. Team Kali sent an assassination squad after the couple, setting the circus ablaze as a cover-up. Her parents’ whereabouts are currently unknown and/or classified.
