“Oh sure, I’ve been around Johto,” Zippy replied to Michi. “But first, who are you? My name’s Zippy of the Hanna Bros. Traveling Circus.” She said the last part with a bit of pride in her voice. The circus was an important part of who she was. The acrobat wouldn’t be an acrobat if it weren’t for the support of family and friends within the circus. It was very hard to imagine Zippy not on a tightrope.
And then a small pokemon jumped on top of her head.
“Huh?” Zippy said in surprise. Before she could realize what was going on, another girl appeared from behind a tree. She was a little bit older than Zippy, with pink streaks running through her blond hair and a typical hoodie-jeans combo often seen in teens. The older girl was trying to coax the pokemon off of Zippy, but Zippy’s shinx had other plans.
Seeing the commotion going on, Ari stopped the chase for Loki and ran towards the shinx. Before he could do anything about the interruption, the stranger had taken her shinx back. Much to his displeasure, Zippy picked Ari back up and listened to the conversation on Team Kali.
“Kali?” Zippy replied as Rowen was leaving. “I hear people talk about the Rockets and Ciphers, but this Kali is new to me. Er, why are you asking?” Zippy was really hoping Michi was simply a tourist who wanted some places to visit in Johto. She had no idea the discussion would turn to criminal groups. Nor did she expect to meet the daughter of such members.
The day was turning out to be quite interesting.

"Oh, hello, Rowen. Good to see you." Professor Elm smiled, walking over to Rowen. The girl smiled and nodded, pulling out a pokemon egg from her bag. "Here you go, Sir. " She handed over the egg, and the Professor smiled widely.
"Excellent, I was looking forward to studying this very much. Rowen, may I see your Pokedex for a second?" He asked. Rowen nodded, fishing out said object and handing it over. After a few moments, the Professor handed it back with a small smile.
"Here you go, Rowen. Now, you have the data for Johto Pokemon as well." Rowen thanked him before walking out the doors of the lab, suprised to see that the two strangers from earlier were still talking.

"I ask because a friend of mine received a note about it," Michi said. "Maybe you've heard of 'The Pheonix', then?" he asked, curious.
Things were shaping up to be very weird. He'd have to track down that other kid and pump information out of them. Anything he could glean would be useful.

"Rowen! I forgot to give you this!" Professor Elm shouted, running out of the lab, a poke ball in his hands. The blue eyed girl paused, curious as he handed it to her.
"What is this, Sir?" she asked, looking up. The Professor smiled.
"Oh, Professor Oak and I decided that this cyndaquil would be much better off with you. Please, take care of her."
Rowen nodded and assured him she would. When she was alone, Rowen smiled.
"Okay, cyndaquill, who I'm nicknaming you Gold, come out!"

“The Phoenix?” Zippy asked with skepticism. “Do you mean the story of Ho-Oh? What does that have to do with this Kali?”
“This man sure is strange,” Zippy thought to herself. Of all the things to learn about Johto, Michi wanted to know more about its dark underbelly. What was he up to?
Meanwhile, Loki had discarded the jar previously on his head and headed over to his trainer. He then proceeded to climb up Zippy and wrap his arms around the bottom of her neck. While dangling down her back, the mime stuck his tongue out at the cuddled shinx. Ari tried to swipe at him, but Zippy resisted, holding on tighter to her cub.

Rowen glanced up at the sky and sighed. "Alright, Gold. Time to meet the rest of the team." The blue eyed girl realsed Mako. Her other pokemon, Saturn, was training with her older brother Chase. Mako gave the newcomer a curious look, but quickly accepted her. Rowen smiled slightly, and knelt down next to her pokemon.
"Alright you two, listen up. What we're about to do will be dangerous, and I don't want either of you to get hurt." She gave Mako a sharp glance.
Rowen took a deep breath before going on. "As you know, Mako, Mom and Dad are members of this Kali," The blue eyed girl said the name with a cold sneer. "I'm going to try once and for all to stop them. I don't know how, but I know why. They... all they are is a more evil version of Team Rocket, and Team Rocket ruined mine and my brothers, not to mention others, lives.
So, we're gonna break into there base. First, let's see if we can learn where it is..." Rowen smiled, and recalled Mako, holding Gold in her arms.

"The Phoenix told my good friend about Kali," Michi said. He moved the cigarette to the other side of his mouth, the fact the girl seemed alone bothered him. "Where are your parents, girl?" Michi asked, frowning.
Part of him wondered if she had any.

“My parents?” Zippy replied to Michi. “They should be here soon. We got separated in the fire, but our site isn’t too far from here. I would show you, but that gatekeeper isn’t going to let me pass…”
The girl nodded over to the gatehouse, which led to the route towards Cherrygrove. It marked the beginning of a grand adventure for most trainers. For Zippy however, it was the only way back home, closed off to her unless she could find someone to accompany her.
Hm…
Her big blue eyes looked up at Michi, hinting for his help in getting out of the town. Her innocent looks and gentle demeanor could hopefully coax the acquaintance in escorting her out.
“I won’t be gone for too long. They’re probably just outside anyways. And afterwards, I can help you find your Phoenix friend. Win-win, right?”

Rowen sighed, soon knowing that her plan had quite a few flaws. One: She didn't have any idea, not even a faint one where Kali's base was. Two: Even if she did find it, why on Earth would they let a teenager in? Hmm, but then, that old man had been asking about the Phoniex..Maybe he knew where the base was...and maybe he might tell her! Rowen grinned at this new plan. Maybe, this might just work!

Michi grunted and puffed on the cigarette a moment. He was gonna regret this, he knew it.
"I have two rules," he grumbled. "One, if I say something, you listen. Two, you don't leave my sight until we find your folks. That clear?" he asked, looking her in the eye, exhaling smoke out of his nose, not unlike an agitated fire type.
He looked the girl over. She seemed far too young to be separated from any adult in this time of trial, so he would have to do. Only heaven knew how his kids lived through his parenting.
