Name: Sable Moon
Age: 96
Gender: Female
Race: Vampire
Class: Necromancer
Appearance: Despite her age, Sable is able to maintain a youthful appearance of someone in her late 20s-early 30s, a benefit from feeding off the souls of her victims. Her long hair is kept black as night, not even a hint of her ancient age shows. In contrast to what one may expect, this vampire’s eyes are a deep blue. She is close to six feet in height and weighs in at around 150 pounds. Indeed, her beautiful looks hide the fact that she is a ruthless predator of humans. The only evidence of her predatory race is a pair of sharpened canines used to suck the blood from her opponents.
- Attire: Sable usually wears long flowing dresses with long sleeves; the one in the picture is a lilac color with gold highlights. The skirt portion is split down the middle, revealing just a bit of her legs above the knee. The thin material of her dresses tends to leave little to the imagination, a plus for attracting male victims into her arms. However, she also wears a thick heavy purple robe for more protection when walking outside. It tattered appearance (especially the tears along the sleeves) helps her take on the appearance of a lonely poor traveler to lure hapless citzens. Her feet remain bare, save for the gold anklet above her right foot. She also bears gold ornaments in her hair for aesthetic purposes.
Personality: Sable is obsessed with getting attention, specifically attention that leads to love. Driven to the point of madness by her dark magic, she will do anything to seek love from all comers. It is not just simply love that she craves, but love that leads to self-sacrifice. She wants them to die for her, even if that means killing the lover with her own hands. This is limited to male victims. Sable absolutely hates women, especially those that enter her domain. She sees them as rivals bent on taking everything from her. As one can see, Sable doesn’t make friends too often .
History: Sable came from a long line of vampires dating back to the Middle Ages. The appearance of her race evolved rapidly as they headed into the modern period. Gone were the bat-like appearances of her relatives. Evolution favored a more human appearance to trick their prey. They also lost much of their traditional weaknesses; they could walk in the daylight without disintegrating (sunburn was another matter). On the flip side, the females lost the ability to fly, while the males were unable to use magic. It was in this world that Sable was born into.
The Moon dynasty was one of the last vampire bloodlines remaining in the world. Her family consisted of many siblings, with Sable being the middle child. Much of her family was busy either tending to the young or preparing the elder children to succeed the dynasty. Sable was largely ignored, desiring attention from someone, anyone. In her solitude, she found an ancient spellbook, the origin of her dark magic. She learned to master the dark aura within her, able to mold it into anything she desired: fire, claws, and even obedient zombie soldiers. Such power came at a high price: she lost her sanity to the darkness. Soon, her craving for attention turned lethal with her newfound powers.
Her father came home to find his wife their female children dead, piled on top of each other in the front hall. The only witness to this monstrous crime was Sable, her clothes ripped and soaked with tears. She told her father that it was the humans in a nearby village that raided their home. In actuality, Sable had slain half her family. She was viciously jealous of her sisters, always getting the attention. Her mother practically ignored her, claiming that Sable was a bastard child. Sable resented her and made sure she paid a price. Being the only daughter, Sable would get all the attention she believed she deserved.
Her father and brothers went to the human village to avenge their family. They never returned. Sable was actually very happy at the outcome. Her family didn’t just shower her with love and gift, they died for her. It was a new sensation for her, love. She abandoned her home to travel world in search of recapturing the feeling once more.
Her travels led her to a king’s castle. The king, eager to take in a bride, gave her a home. Eventually, they were engaged, but the love of one was not enough for the vampire. She had several relationships with various guards. When the king found out, he confronted her. That was when Sable decided to end it: she feasted upon her future husband. His soul was added to those she had gathered over the years. These souls were formed into an undead army, one that attacked the castle. The soldiers were caught off guard; they too would join Sable’s ranks in the afterlife. In one night, the vampire had full control of the castle. One would think this contradicted what she desired: to be loved by many. Her plans would ensure that she would be loved for an eternity.
A story spread throughout the lands of a castle taken over by dark forces. It was swarming with the undead and all manner of dark creatures. In one of the towers was a beautiful princess, trapped in eternal sleep. All one had to do was awaken her with a kiss and they would live in eternal bliss. Many brave warriors travelled to the castle believing this fairy tale. Those that didn’t die by the hand of the undead horde would find out that the princess they were after was none other than Sable. By the time they found that out, it was far too late.
Weapons: Perhaps Sable’s most formidable weapon is her undead army. Her army consists of all manner of beings, from the standard hominids to beasts of all shapes and sizes. Their make up is based on her whim, deciding how many of each soldier are to be formed. Even though they are undead, they have the same range of motion as their living counterparts. In fact, undead would be an inaccurate term: they are simply bodies without souls. Each soldier is connected to Sable like a hivemind, allowing the vampire to control individuals or direct squadrons without leaving her tower.
Sable herself has the sharpened fangs common to vampires. Her saliva contains an anti-coagulant, allowing blood to flow freely from the wound. Even if the opponent gets away from Sable after being bitten, they risk suffering from blood loss.
Magic: In one-on-one combat, Sable relies on her dark magic to battle. Her magic is connected to her mind, allowing her to form anything out of the dark matter. Fire, knives, or bursts of energy are not beyond her.
Skills/Techniques: Aside from magic, Sable has the ability to merge with shadows. She can travel between dark areas in invisibility, sneaking up on her prey. Needless to say, don’t fight her in the dark.
Weaknesses: While Sable lost much of her vampiric weaknesses, she has become mortal. Much of her strength lies in her army. When facing opponents herself, she doesn’t have much in the way of strength.
Strengths: Her abilities in stealth, deception, and magic make her a formidable opponent.
