Yes, Red is supposed to sound OCC. After all, he’s pissed and he’s a ghost. I’m sure that never happened in any form of the cannon.
Disclaimer: I don’t own pokemon. I only own Alyss Collins.
Chapter 1: A forgotten hero.
Red’s POV
I’ve been forgotten. No one cares about the boy who saved Kanto from the menace that was Team Rocket. No one cares about whom used to the greatest the world had ever known. No one cares about me, the one who went missing and no one ever found. I, who am Red of Pallet Town, the forgotten hero.
Frowning, I watched as the new family moved in my old house. “Alyss, isn’t this pretty?” An older woman asked, smiling at a girl around my age. The girl, Alyss, frowned and shrugged. “I guess so, Mom.” She replied and I scowled. What was wrong with my house? Sure, it was a little small but it wasn’t ugly! What did this Alyss girl know?
I just shook my head, standing silently in a corner. Of course they couldn’t see me, I’m dead after all.
“It IS pretty, but it feels like something’s watching us…” Alyss murmured, looking around as if she was trying to see something invisible and unseen.
I chuckled slightly, and Alyss looked terrified. “Mom,” she whispered, looking straight towards where I was standing. “I heard a laugh.”
Her mother frowned at her. “Sweetie, you’re just imagining things…No one’s here but us, and I didn’t laugh.” She chided lightly, but I just smiled slowly. Haha, they thought they were all alone, didn’t they?
“Okay, Mom. I’m gonna go check out my room.” Alyss sighed and walked up the stairs that led to my own room. Unknown to her, I followed quietly and unseen behind.
Alyss opened the door, and glanced around. “Well, it looks like my room at home did.” She muttered, walking in and sitting down on her bed. I stopped in the doorway, horrified. What had she done to my room? The walls were still painted white, but there was a pink and white lace canopy over a four poster bed and a frilly vanity and even frillier curtains on the two windows in the room.
“Oh my God.” I whispered in horror, and Alyss looked up, startled. Good, she should be startled. I glared at the blonde haired girl, knowing full and well that she couldn’t see me. Why had she done this to my room? I gave the room another glare, and was shocked at what I saw hanging up on the walls. A glass case holding what looked like gym badges was hanging right next to a picture of a pikachu with startling blue eyes.
I walked over, and touched the case lightly, still surprised that this girl was a trainer. From the looks of it, these badges were from Johto and what shocked me even more was the badge that only the Champion would get.
This girl was the Champion of Johto? I looked over at Alyss, trying to see some sign the girl was a Champion, but all she looked like at the moment was a girl who really didn’t wanna be here and rather be anywhere else.
“Okay, listen. I know you’re here. I don’t know who you are and I don’t know what you are, but you better leave or else.” Alyss said suddenly, looking up and glaring right at the spot I was standing, unseen. Her eyes were a dark green and at the moment looked as hard and cold as crystals.
I wanted to say some smart alec, but I wasn’t really ready to reveal my presence, so I just kept quiet, not making a sound. She glared at the spot for maybe another minute before sighing and lying back down on her bed with a yawn.
“You’d better leave.” She murmured sleepily and I chuckled slightly. Maybe she would be fun to mess around with. After all, she wasn’t leaving and neither was I.
I grinned and vanished, only to reappear downstairs where her mother was, cleaning the kitchen. I frowned slightly. I missed my own mom more and more each day. I shook my head, and just ignored the feeling. Mom had been gone for a while now. Nothing I could do about it. I looked around, and to my surprise, the house looked basically (With the exception of Alyss’ room) like the house did when my Mom and I still lived here. I smiled slowly, and frowned when I heard footsteps on the stairs, the third step creaking like it always did. Alyss walked down, looking sleepy and I wondered why she hadn’t just kept sleeping then.
“Hi Mom.” She yawned and went over and sat down on the couch. Her mom smiled.
“Hi, Ally. What do you think of your room?”
Alyss shrugged. “Pretty I guess. The views nice. I just miss Johto, that’s all.” Her mom nodded.
“Yeah, I imagine you would after all. Don’t worry though. In two months you have to go back for a month to challenge trainers for the Champion title.”
Alyss grinned, nodding.
“Yeah, I guess I will. I’d better start training soon. I’m not losing my title of three years to some rookie trainer!” She laughed and I smiled slightly. She sounded like I used to.
Her mom just laughed and said, “Alyss you sound like your dad did…” Alyss just nodded, but didn’t say anything.
“Yeah, I’ve been compared to Dad before.” She muttered, getting up and turning on the TV. I rolled my eyes. The TV show she picked was The Real World. Geesh, how shallow can you be? I flicked my wrist and the TV turned off. Alyss scowled, looking completely confused. She turned the TV back on, but just as she started watching it again, I flicked it off. She glowered, and turned it back on once more, but this time to Criminal Minds. Much better.
She watched as the BAU team cracked another case, and I stood behind the couch unseen, watching as well. Maybe she would be fun to bother. After all, it’s been about ten years since a teenager moved in and the last one was all scared and I couldn’t even flip off the lights without her screaming and running out. But, Alyss seemed like she wouldn’t be the type to be scared off easily. To prove my theory, I flicked my wrist, causing a picture to fall off the fireplace and land on the floor, unharmed but a good five feet from where it once stood. Alyss glared and just shook her head, picking up the picture. This would be fun.
