Appearance: Zor is a quadrupedal dragon standing at about four and a half feet tall. She’s approximately thirty feet in length due to her long tail and long, slender neck.
Zorayda is covered in scales ending in feathers, unlike normal bird feathers. They go from a soft gray color to white, with variegated splotches of darker gray and almost brown all over her body. Her head is completely dark brown. Her wings span out to double her body length and are the same color as the rest of her body. Her underbelly is a lighter gray than the rest of her body, but the same color scheme. Her ears are feathery as well, and they are pointed and long, much like a great horned owl’s. Her long face ends in a semi-avian shape, and her bright cerulean eyes are large and hawklike, like great big shiny gems. She has round pupils. Her front claws are shaped like an eagle’s, with four long toes ending in talons plus a dewclaw-like talon on each forefoot. Her back feet have shorter toes with broader claws, with four toes on both back feet. Her tail is long, strong, and feathered like her body, with longer tail feathers adorning the tip to give her more control during flight. The end of her tail is a darker brown like her face and head.
Zorayda has had a fairly easy life, so her physique isn’t overly muscular. She’s not a weakling, and she remains fairly slender due to her light diet of fish and small birds. She is an agile flier who is most at home in the air. On the ground, however, she isn’t as able and runs clumsily.
Personality: She’s had a very easy life in general, filled with flying, frolicking, and the happiness of youth. Though older dragons are aware of the wars between clans and remain bitter and set in their ways, Zorayda has had no experience of that and is therefore happy, bubbly, and carefree. She enjoys socializing and makes friends easily.
Though she has grown up with history of the clan wars, Zorayda feels curious about the Sea Clan dragons and wonders if they are as bad as they sound. She still has some bias against them, though, because she trusts her family and will be cautious and mistrustful of any Sea Clan members she encounters.
Zorayda is extremely effervescent and sociable, though she can be a little awkward when it comes to finding the right words to cheer someone up. She often has a difficult time reading others’ emotions and sometimes can say hurtful things without meaning to. She states her honest opinion often, which gets her into trouble at times. She’s not entirely without tact, however, and she will try to do and say the right thing when she knows how. One could summarize this by saying that she has an average social intelligence.
In a fight, Zorayda is extremely variable. Most of the time, she uses defensive and evasive technique first to avoid confrontation. However, if angered enough or if forced to, she will fight very aggressively and viciously. Her tactics are less about power and more about precision and surprise. She will go for the throat or an extremely sensitive area to kill or cripple her enemy, simply because she is smaller than most and has a very strong will to survive. When it comes to saving or protecting something or someone she cares about, she would sacrifice everything for that object’s safety. This is directly due to her extreme loyalty to family, friends, and her own beliefs.
Zorayda’s self-value is fairly normal, what with loving family and clan ties being an everyday thing for her. She hasn’t had a whole lot of stressful events happen in her life that would make her feel poorly about herself, though she has been teased once in awhile about her lack of ability to sense subtle social cues at times.
Though she is a chatty dragonette, she isn’t a complete open book. Her thoughts about serious things in life are kept to herself, and though she likes to flirt a little with males, she is very secretive about those she truly has feelings for.
Magical Abilities (if applicable): Zorayda’s magical abilities are limited, but she can twist air a tiny bit to make herself fly more smoothly or to interrupt wind currents and stop other flying animals from coming close. She can also see in pitch blackness, which is a seemingly impossible task that no other dragon she’s met can do.
Other Abilities/Skills: She’s an expert flier, being born to be in the sky, and she can breathe fire like all dragons seem to be able to. She also has an acute sense of perception at times, and can have brief glimpses of wise clarity.
Strengths: She’s speedy, a great flier, and has a certain charm about her that often wins others over.
Weaknesses: Social ineptness at times, which can do anything from hurting feelings to starting huge fights. She’s also slow and a bit clumsy on land.
History: Zorayda was born to the Air Clan to an average couple, along with a younger sister. Their family was always a bit broken as far as she can remember, however… her father is rarely seen, and she often thinks of him. Her mother has raised her under average care, and the rest of the clan is as close as regular family in her eyes. She does not know that her father has also been with one of the Sea Clan, therefore begetting her half-brother, Darwing.
Zorayda’s history is pretty much unremarkable. She hasn’t seen any battle of Sea and Air Clans yet in her young life, and she hasn’t had much to worry about, save her perpetually absent father. Things will soon become much, much more complicated, however…
