Selena's brow arched, though sidestepping around Dark Link. "If I may learn something, it will be well worth it ... My thanks, though," she murmured, unabashed by her apparent opponent's magic.

Dark Link stiffened. "Selena, you don't know what you're getting into," he cautioned.

She glanced over out of the corner of her eye, watching him. "... Why do you say that?" she queried softly, though promptly raising a hand when their opponent lashed out. A shimmering barrier appearing.

"He's powerful. You don't know all you can do," Dark Link said, sounding protective. He didn't want her getting hurt.

"... True enough ..." she conceded, sidestepping as her barrier shattered. The sphere of energy hit the ground, and the faint smell of burning grass rose to meet them as some blades shriveled.

Selena nodded encouragingly, eyes closing briefly as she focused once more. "Even without my past, I am not helpless, good sir ..." she murmured to their foe, just loud enough for him to hear her.

Dark Link glanced back at her, feeling very cautious about letting her battle. But, he had to admit, his opponent was skilled. He was better, though and had more tricks than he probably thought.
