This roleplay will also be done vastly on IMs and regularly transferred over aside from occasional main forum posts, and it is more or less an alternate reality of our first three-year old roleplay Transcendence and my fannovel Crescent Light Chronicles. There will be an entirely different take on Dark Link and Selena's relationship (sub-'canon' in CLC), but also there will be a much stronger base plot.
Dark Waters is also based in the same time-frame/universe as Kaine's roleplay; Ascent of the Demon King, and thus will have many of the same aspects. In all honesty, this roleplay itself stemmed from a miniature and informal roleplay on skype while waiting for Kaine to arrive. Hehe. ^_^"
Character Differences from "Canon":
Selena has developed amnesia relating to anything personal, and thus her personality will be vastly changed for now until memories further surface and reveal bits of herself. She is also much stronger magically right off the bat, though naturally is wearied a little easier at first due to injuries sustained before my first post in "AotDK". (Obviously, these two roleplays will indirectly intertwine, so it'd help to read both of them.)
Dark Link, known as Derrick Lin, is based entirely different as well. His attitude is more chivalrous and he is more willing to protect what he deems as "innocence" to whatever means necessary. Being a long-time mercenary, death is nothing new to him. Duty to his new Master, however, continues to tug at the back of his mind when his life takes an unexpected turn.
