Selena raised a hand to the horse's sleek ebony coat as it halted between them, before gently running it along the stallion's muscular shoulder. Pensive, pondering as she inhaled the comforting equine scent.

"This is Anope," he said, mounting the horse. He held a hand down for Selena to take.

"He's a beautiful horse," Selena commented quietly, before accepting his gesture, allowing herself to be pulled up in front of him. Unsure, however, of what lay in store. Of what was waiting in the shadows of her past, and in her future.

"Yes. Though you should've seen his Grandsire," Dark Link chuckled. "Ha!" he called, squeezing his heels, getting he horse into an extended trot through the forest.

Selena's cobalt gaze wandered around her surroundings as they trotted across a massive field, having recently crossed a bridge and now were apparently en route to the walled town. Pausing in the saddle, though, upon 'hearing' something. That voice again ... Selena shook her head, this time trying to usher it out. Had she known the horseman from that snippet of a memory?

"What?" Dark Link asked, urging Anope into a canter as to try and reach the area before sundown.

"It's nothing," Selena returned quickly, inwardly wondering what was spurring these sudden and brief flashes.

"Whoa," Dark Link said, stopping a little ways from the bridge. "Anope will go no further," he said, dismounting and waiting to help Selena down.

The young woman nodded in acknowledgement, patting the stallion's lathered neck in thanks as she accepted out of courtesy. Considering he had gone a full day out of his way, it was only polite to accept what he was offering. "My thanks, Derrick," she said softly as he stepped back, before offering a bow.
