Hehe, I have to agree with you on that. Imagine how intimidating that would be in real life, too. o.o

Oh my god, so the other day, I was playing Emerald (don't question my sanity xD) and then I encountered this oddish and it was GREEN " So I was like "omjizz, this must be a shineh " and I took extra care not to kill it and opened by bag to pull out a pokeball... That's when I realized I hadn't bought any so I couldn't catch it. So I let the poor thing flee *nodnod* Sad, I know. Hope next time, I'll have something else than an Oddish as a shiny ):

*Smiles, then pats.* I feel your pain, Imouto-chan. That's tough luck, and more than likely everyone has had it once before. *Pokes the pink drowzee from Silver.* Pink, yeah, but it was still a shiny. Those were super valuable in Gen II.

The only shinies I obtained myself were through breeding with a Japanese ditto. Anytime I need eggs, I almost always use the foreign ditto, which increases chances of getting a shiny. I managed to get a shiny Phione from Pearl and a shiny Mareep in SoulSilver. All other shinies I received in trades or donated by the kindness of strangers. They include a shiny charmander (which I used in my first playthrough of SoulSilver) and shiny mew (got off on the GTS. May or may not be legit, but it still looks pretty). I actually caught a red metapod in the original Gold game, but that data was erased .

Seriously, I have been playing these games steadily (as in pretty much 24-7) for about 5-6 years, if you don't count my period of inactivity for a few years when Gen III came along...and aside from the scripted Red Gyarados in G/S/C and HG/SS...I have never even SEEN a shiny Pokemon, much less had the chance to catch one. in what must be over 10,000 wild Pokemon fights by now...not ONE.
I'm seriously jealous of you lot...
As for shinies I want...two of my favourite Pokemon have shiny forms that I like...Persian and the Shinx/Luxio/Luxray chain. Heheh, the latter actually looks remarkably like a lion character I use in just about every animal-based story I think up of. Yellow and black...awesome...

*Pats.* Don't worry, Fuzzy-kins. You'll find them sooner or later. It took me ages to find my first one. Then, while still rare, I stumbled across them marginally more often. And I'm thinking about breeding a shiny Tanga (Shinx) for you. ^_^

awww...you'd really do that? Thanks! *hugs happily*
you don't have to...but at this rate, I wouldn't be too surprised if my Pokemon games are bugged in some way that stops shinies from ever appearing...trading's probably going to be the only way to ever obtain one.

I've got a shiny Horsea that I can breed for ya. Its moves aren't set yet, so there's no worries that daycare would change anything I don't want them to...

Mmmhmm. It'll take a bit, but I will try to get your shinx for you. It should have at least three "egg moves", on top of being shiny.
