Official Shiny Pokemon Thread

All discussion of shinies belongs in this thread. Ones you've caught, run into and accidentally KO'd/ran from, seen, want, etc. Have fun with our uniquely colored 'Mons. ^_^


I'll start this off with probably what was a game glitch, but still had an epic affect. My first "shiny" was actually a blue rattata in Silver version, rather than the gold shiny ones. I managed to catch it, and when I turned my game back on I still had it until the file corrupted a few years later. Probably my only rattata to stay one for its entire life, hehe. It got all the way up to level 50. That's saying quite a bit for the battle levels of wild and trainer pokemon in Gen II.

Then I'd run into a shiny drowsee when I was out of pokeballs in the same game. The red gyradose doesn't really count since everyone encounters it, though.

Following that, I've run into two shinies in Leaf Green and one in Fire Red. A gold pidgey in the latter; and then a green golbat and a black and blue machoke. Very nice coincidences. ^_^

I also ran into one shiny in Diamond, although I was also out of pokeballs at the time. Go figure. *Sweatdrop.*

I have, currently, a shiny Mr. Mime, a shiny Suicune, a shiny Umbreon, and a shiny Seadra.

I came across the Mr. Mime, Suicune was after a bunch of restarts, Umbreon came from a traded shiny Eevee, and I came across the shiny Seadra as well.

Very nice. I mainly have the four shinies I listed from Gen III and IV still. The other files have since been lost.

But it sounds like you have quite the collection. ^_^

Yeah, someone was generous enough to give me that shiny Eevee, which is really something. Mr. Mime was in the Safari Zone, and Seadra was around the Seafoam Islands.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the shiny eevee that Kazea-san gave me recently. (She's not registered here, but she's my Oneesan~.) I haven't decided what I want to evolve him into yet. ^_^

I dunno, but I know that I personally don't like the Espeon, Glaceon, and Jolteon shinies. My favorites are Vaporeon and Umbreon.

Same here. I love all of the eeveelutions, especially espeon, but its shiny sprite is butt-ugly. *Sweatdrop.* (I do like the glaceon sprite, though.)

I was considering evolving it into a leafeon or umbreon, though.

Neeeesama D: Where do you find all these shinies? I've been trying, for like, forever, and I haven't even ENCOUNTERED one ): Seeing you two speak about shinies like they're completely natural makes me feel inferior xD

Gen III games seem to be the kindest to me in that manner, actually. And I've been playing pokemon for a decade. *Sweatdrop.*
