I actually registered here just to post in this thread, but after the first volume of the manga I can't understand at all why people love this. L is a pretty fail detective ("THE CRIMES ARE OCCURING IN JAPAN BUT THE KILLER MIGHT BE IN AMERICA"). I'm not sure if I'll bother continuing the series. I suggest reading the Umineko no Naku Koro ni visual novels for a better mystery, albeit that story is near perfect and is pretty difficult to top. Oh, hey, Switch Renn. Nice to see you here. But actually, its the smaller aspects combined with the larger ones that make it a good series. Sure, L seems to be pretty odd and eccentric at times, but its about character development. Give the characters a chance to become people, then see what you think of them.  |
