Kaine walked over and put a hand on Amethyst's shoulder gently.
"Don't worry," he said quietly. "As long as he's close to you, even if he's in his pokeball, he'll begin to warm up to you. I've seen it happen many times before. It'll work out."

Selina nodded silently in encouragement to Amethyst to couple with Kaine's words, trusting his judgment and experience on that. "I'm certain it will ... It'll just take some time," the young woman murmured as she picked Eva out of the sink, the dainty female promptly leaving a huge puddle of hair-matted water on the floor as the amber eyed human dug a towel out of her pack and began rubbing it along the fennec's soft pelt. Eva nuzzled against her hand as she did so, watching the others now. "Perhaps with a little time he'll at least tolerate the presence of other pokemon, even if he still growls at them. While I know feral pokemon act differently than those of the Shroud; I've seen the progress of the former before," the young woman added in hopes of comforting Amethyst some. It was painfully clear that the brunette was frustrated, and exasperated at the task before her for even just the eevee. With any fortune, maybe it'd work out.
She paused after a moment, noticing the Professor Elm returning with a large blue binder. "Here are copies of the important files, Miss Anima. Much of this is from the original Shadow Pokemon eras, as observation and how the purification worked, and the like. But there is also a paper that compares the Shroud Pokemon to the Shadow ones. You will likely find it to your interest," he added, plopping the binder down on the counter with a noticeable 'thud'. Stacks of folders and loose sleeves of paper were visible through the clear plastic, totaling at almost six inches high.
"My thanks, Professor," the young woman returned, nodding in appreciation.

“My clothes are dirty, aren’t they?” Inng slowly lifted himself up from the ground, the back of his head throbbing as he did so. He couldn’t remember the last time he had fallen like that. It was only an instance that could have been brought about by his mischievous companion. “Noir, get in your pokeball,” the green haired boy commanded while pulling out the spherical orb. He watched as the large eyed creature stared back at him, her gaze implying that she had no intention of complying.
“Give me something first,” she replied through telepathy.
“Noir, my clothes are dirty, I’m hungry, and I’m lost. If I could get my hands on you I’d give you a beating.” Inng could have easily recalled the Misdreavous, but establishing dominance in situations like now was important. If he simply recalled her she’d keep acting up, and he couldn’t survive many more falls like the one he just took.
Noir floated a few feet away from her trainer, her large eyes scanning the surroundings as she did so. “There should be a town or something nearby, shouldn’t there?” She questioned Inng, who was now gritting his teeth.
“There should have been a town or something,” repeated Inng, his voice filled with frustration. “If we had stayed on anything remotely resembling a trail…we would have been at a town by now!” Inng sighed, the realization that yelling at the pokemon was having no effect. That was precisely what she wanted. “Noir, let’s…just get going,” he murmured while moving forward in no particular direction.
“We should find a path to follow, or else we’ll be running about this place forever. We should also find a pond or something to let Etoile out.” Noir watched Inng pass by her, seemingly in a daze. “Are you paying attention?” She followed closely, pestering the young man with things he should have done, or should be doing.
Inng’s gloved hands tightened into fists, trying to fight the urge to attack the pokemon, miss, and then fall on his face. Maybe he’d hit a rock and put himself out of his misery. The thought of brutalizing himself was welcomed, far more than the constant barrage of telepathic messages he was receiving.

Kaine blinked at the massive stack of research material Elm had brought for Selina and yawned. He covered his mouth quickly and then spoke, "My goodness, seeing all that paperwork makes me sleepy." Kaine chuckled and turned back towards the room he had come from.
"Come on, Gryphonn," he called out softly. "Let's go back to our room and rest a little more." He looked to Amethyst and Selina. "I hope your reading proves beneficial. We'll see you a bit later." He nodded and headed back to the room. The door opened and he shrugged off his coat, laying down instantly. I wonder why I got so tired again all of a sudden...
"It's because you're still exhausted, Kaine."
"Thank you Khan." Kaine chuckled and shook his head. "I have to ask though, are you my companion or my mother?"
Khan scoffed. "There are times when you need both, and since a mother is not present, I must fill the role."
Kaine laughed loudly. "Thanks Khan. Be safe."
"Sleep well, Kaine."

Selina chuckled lightly in response to Kaine's comment, shaking her head. "It's a good thing I read quickly, isn't it?" the young woman mused out loud, though offering a small smile to him. She slid the binder onto her lap as she took a seat in the swivel chair next to the counter, leaning back in it as the opened it. "All right, Kaine. Sleep well," the young woman added in response as Leta joined her, the small psychic type levitating into her lap so she could read the reports as well.
The first sheet in the binder was a list of all the articles, so it was the first to be scanned through for anything notable. A certain few did catch her attention, as it happened:
Shadow Pokemon: Key Traits and Behaviors. Locked Hearts and Purifying Shroud History of the three Uprisings.
It was plainly obvious which ones she'd want copies of, as many a time an answer was hidden right in front of someone's face when things started to get puzzling. They would not only make good reference later, but would be certain to be informative. "What do you think, Leta?" she murmured, knowing the ralts could sense what she was thinking.
"It wouldn't hurt to ask to borrow a printer. Besides, depending on the size of the articles we could review them easily later on. All in all, a win-win situation. Anything helps when we're new to a region and unfamiliar problem, after all," Leta returned calmly, though her head slightly inclined towards the Shroud eevee's storage sphere as she spoke. Not intending offense or making a rude comment, but simply the plain truth. The sooner they learned about the gravity of the situation, the sooner they could actually help rather than stand on the sidelines.

Amethyst stared at the ball, knowing full well she was going to be in over her head soon. The eevee was downright violent at unpredictable intervals. Maybe if she could figure out what set him off, she would be able to try and recuperate him.

The young woman glanced up at Amethyst after a moment, watching the older woman for a moment. Plainly enough, she was downtrodden at the turn of events. "Well ... Give him some time. Maybe he'll calm down some, and become able to cohabit with other pokemon. It is to be expected from what I gather, after all. Hopefully, though, it won't be this way with every Shroud we encounter," the amber eyed trainer mused, glancing at her companions now.
It would be a trying time. That much was obvious. But as of yet, they'd not even stepped out of New Bark. There was a long road ahead of them.
