This roleplay has been ongoing for three plus years now, and has gained both myself and DiamondGirl much experience in writing different types of things. Whilst there are several one-liners scattered throughout, generally frowned upon in most roleplaying, this entire roleplay was done on types of IMs with varying character limits and is being transfered over post-by-post.
DiamondGirl has given me express permission to use her account to post this, as there are almost 600 pages worth of posts to put up here. And as fair warning, some of the beginning characterization is rather poor; and the rating of this RP is overall T.
For those of you that read along, we hope that you don't mind the on-the-fly manner that we've been applying.

Dark Link sat in one of the few trees in Hyrule Field, hidden in its branches. He lazily balanced an arrow on one finger, waiting for his other half to ride by. "Waiting in ambush is boring. Show up already!" he growled, grabbing the arrow with his other hand and notching his bow to shoot another crow.
The crows, he decided, were out to get him. Or at least tell the world where he was. If they weren't divebombing him with their beaks, they were cawing at him from other trees or the air around him.
Dark Link glanced at the sun. "If he doesn't show up in the next hour, I'm gonna make like a tree and leaf!" he snapped, maybe a bit too loud for his own good.

The cloaked mage paused, half turning. Crows were cawing loudly, nestled in a nearby tree. As was a powerful essence. She tensed. It felt as if eyes were piercing through her.

Dark Link lazily sized up the mage. He shrugged. "Why not? Link will be there tomorrow, so why not have some fun?" he muttered. "Also, note to self: Stop thinking out loud," he added. He fired the arrow at the mage, his aim off intentionally.
If the mage stayed where he or she was, it'd land right in front of them. If they jumped back, he'd have more room for an amazing entrance.

The young woman stiffened, sharply raising her arm. A cobalt barrier flared, blowing the cloak-hood off of it's caster's head. The arrow struck, rippling through her shield before falling harmlessly to the ground.
A cool spring breeze drifted across the field, toying with the mage's hip-length electrum tresses. Soft cobalt eyes narrowed, 'feeling' her assailant’s astonishment.
She paused, before lowering her hand back beneath her cloak. It brushed the cold hilt of her rapier, the heels of her boots clicking on the hard dirt path as she stepped back.

Dark Link smirked. "This'll be fun," he said. And with all the skill and grace of a cat, he leapt from the branches.
He front-flipped and landed in a bow before the girl. "'Tis an honor, M'lady. It's been an age sense I had the company of a lady," he said, straitening. He grinned toothily at her, appearing to have vampiric fangs.

"... I presume you had a reason for targeting me?" she queried softly, wary. Underneath the cloak, a slight aura was gathering around her hands.
Something was telling her to expect another attack.

Dark Link opened his mouth to say something, then closed it, looking thoughtful. "Nope," he said, shaking his head. "Not really. I was just bored out of my mind," he added with a shrug.

Selena slowly took a step back, her soft cobalt gaze tracking every lithe movement of the other being. Careful not to expose a weakness, should his 'boredom' surface again.

Dark Link rolled his eyes and started circling her. "Please don't try to run. I just want to talk ... For now," he said, grinning toothily again. "You aren't from around here, are you?" he asked, one hand fingering the hilt of his Dark Master Sword, the Sword of Good's bane.
