Dark Link looked around, taking in the battlefield. It seem that all they had to worry about at the moment was the one conscious Wolfos, but that didn't mean it'd stay that way for long. He spun, sword out, slashing the Wolfos across his face, causing him to cry out in pain.
Dark Link took the momentary laps in battle too reach back for Selena in hopes to pull her closer to better protect her. These feelings were new to him, the feeling of having someone else to worry about, and the feeling of not wanting that other person hurt, no matter the cost. Because she did not shun him when they met? Because she did not know what he was?
"Selena! Stay close to me!" Dark Link said, trying, and failing, to keep the worry out of his voice.

Selena paused, startled. After his previous actions, now he wished to protect her? Why? She suddenly sidestepped, a shimmering shield flickering into existence. More than one low growl was now audible. The entire pack had arrived.

Dark Link growled and leapt into the fray, striking to kill or maim now, not caring for his own safety. He would not let these beasts harm Selena. His eyes widened as the very thought struck him. These strange feelings were affecting him in dangerous ways, making him battle as desperate as Link had back during Ganondorf's reign, but he surprised himself yet again by not caring about how he fought anymore.

Selena's eyes widened in astonishment as he charged the entire pack of wolfos. Bravery, or foolishness? Armed with but a sword, one would not be able to stand against the entire pack.
She broke into a run, small feet pounding the cooling turf. A small cobalt sphere appeared between her hands. Canine heads turned. The young woman released.
More yelping became audible, her element's color momentarily flashing in the night. She immediately expanded her magical shield. The rest of the pack lunged. Heavy canine bodies collided with it, rebounding off of it. Inches from Dark Link.
The young woman flinched, feeling as if they had all rammed into her. Selena's balance wavered momentarily, before straightening.

Dark Link Glanced back, worry in eyes as he saw Selena waver. "Don't worry about me. I'll be okay," he said, winking at her. Then he plunged back into the fray.
He bit down on his tongue to keep from crying out and alerting Selena to the punishment he was taking and he rammed his sword upwards, through the skull of one of the wolfos. When another lunged his turned his head and sunk his fangs into the poor creature's throat, ripping it out as he struck down yet another creature, ignoring the pain blossoming in his back as on of the creatures ripped it open with it's claws.
He spat out the throat and repeated the process, striking with his sword and ripping out whatever he could get his fangs on.

Selena sighed, feeling the pull on her energy from already using so much magic. Yet the pack just kept coming.
They were relentless, still striking the shields she had formed. Although the pack was already down to a third of it's original size, she doubted that they'd be able to hold out against the Alphas.
The largest two were hovering at the back. Observing, watching. Searching out weaknesses. Saliva dripped from their yellowed fangs, their sharp claws gouging into the turf. Their amber eyes were ravenous. They suddenly lunged, bounding towards them.
Ancient Hylian drifted through the night. Blue aura flared around both beings. They vanished.
Selena groaned as they landed, hard cobblestone greeting them.

Dark Link yelped as a wolfos that made it through the teleportation bit his shoulder. He punched it in the nose with his shield arm, causing it to dislodge and quickly beheaded it. He then walked over to Selena, he looked her up and down, assessing her injuries, ignoring the state he was in.
His left shoulder was bleeding from the bite he had received. His tunic and undershirt were torn terribly, revealing half of his upper torso, his back was striped as badly as if he had received beatings from a whip, and his he had nasty gashes on one cheek.
"You okay?" he asked Selena.

The young woman nodded hesitantly, pulling her half-shredded cloak around her again. Her entire body was now aching, thick warmth seeping down her side and leg. He had been through enough that he didn't need to see hers.
She sighed, noticing Dark Link's injuries. Although five gashes ran down her thigh from the first wolfos, and she now had a detailed set of teeth in her forearm, his were far worse.
"I'm alright ... But your wounds, however, are naught to scoff at."
It was painfully clear she was now in his debt, having fought alongside each other. A life for a life, after all. While it remained unclear as to why he had turned and chosen to attempt to protect her, after what had happened earlier, the results had left them both alive. Between magic and sword, the wolfos were no longer.

Dark Link averted his gaze. "I've had worse," he muttered. He reached into his magic bag and pulled out a bottle with a pink fairy floating inside it. He opened it with the opening facing towards Selena, causing it to fly out and heal Selena.
Dark Link then removed his undershirt and tunic and pulled out a roll of bandages and started wrapping it around his torso with the skill of one who had done so many times before.

The young woman's brow arched, clearly not having expect him to use the faerie on her. She moved forward after a moment, lightly taking the roll of soft cloth from him.
"Sit," Selena said softly, her gentle tone firm as she motioned towards a wooden crate outside of a closed shop.
He hesitated, before complying. The young woman followed him, before pausing at his side. A soft silver-blue aura soon resonated from the mage's palm, soothing the warrior's burning wounds. The worse ones soon vanished, completely healed. Only the lesser wounds now remained.
Selena stepped back after a moment, leaning against the stone wall for support. She slid down it, relaxing against the stone in her returned weariness. It was obvious, even with a faerie's healing magic, it did not affect one's energy.
