Kitty had to laugh at the blonde's comment, especially at his tone. Smiling when they calmed down some, she shook her head. "Only if you count happenstance," she said with a wry chuckle, but paused upon feeling a warm head brush against her leg. So that's where Sagira had gone. Warmth touching her jade gaze as she reached to pet her undersized lioness, clearly affectionate to her longtime partner. "... I did see you collapse earlier, though. Are you okay?" she asked after a moment, tilting her head.
Sagira sniffed at the luxray as the human duo spoke, before stepping forward and offering the electric lion an extended paw on the floor in greeting. Purring slightly in approval, whorled tail swishing. Her crimson gaze moved to the luxray's trainer after a moment, observing him. Semi-satisfied, even if curious.

"O-Oh that!" the blonde nervously shook his hand in a dismissive way. "N-Nothing important, we'd just been in the rain for too long. We've been travelling for three days now and haven't come across a decent town, so that would explain that we're exhausted, and then there was the rain factor..." he chuckled sheepishly, blushing. Obviously, lying, and failing at that, too.
There was an awkward silence where he just chuckled and tried to clear the awkwardness, until he noticed Kitty's Pokemon approaching his own.
"Inazuma." he called in a sweet voice. "You can take some time to make friends with Kitty's Pokemon, too." he laughed, but there was an undertone that clearly warned him of something, something only both of them knew they shouldn't talk about.
The Electric-type Pokemon nodded slightly and made a noise of content before getting closer to the Persian and nuzzling against it as a hello.
"Well, our Pokemon seem to get along." the blonde laughed, looking up at Kitty. A sudden gleam of curious suspicion crossed his eyes, but extremely quickly, his grin returned.

Kitty's head tilted at his sudden stuttering, interest piqued. But also had alarm bells going off in her head, having learned by now sudden changes in moods usually had strings attached. The young woman smiled slightly at his sudden blush, shaking her head. He certainly was bashful, wasn't he? "Well, I'm glad to see you're feeling better, then. Where are you headed after this, anyway? We might be lucky enough to meet up, if circumstances allow," Kitty added, although suppressing a sigh at the thought of being confined to the same spaces as the icy eyed blonde that just loved to exert his dominance. With any luck, her newest mission would be short and sweet. There would more than likely be complications, but her partners would at least assist with that.
At least getting a small amount of happiness from the fact that Sagira was getting the chance to make a friend, though. The electrical lion, Inazuma he'd called the luxray, seemed nice enough. Oddly small for it's species, about the same size as her own affectionate runt, but pleasant nonetheless. Being undersized or different didn't mean anything. They were still special. "Glad to see that you're making a friend, Sagira," she said, chuckling lightly.

The blonde suddenly flinched and rubbed the back of his neck, eyes darting about nervously for a moment, obviously trying to come up for something. His expression quickly changed, though, as he put his arms behind his head and grinned.
"Gonna go see if there's a hotel room we could rent. And food. Fancy food sounds just about great by now. And I need to buy new fishnets, these ones got totally tattered with the rain." he sighed.
A light growl at his feet turned his attention to the undersized Luxray, who nudged him gently on the knee then turned to Sagira, padding up to her side and sitting down next to her.
"Oh boy..." he muttered, crouching on his knees and petting his Luxray. It nuzzled closer in his palm and smiled lightly. "Maybe we will meet them again afterwards, don't worry about it." he laughed.
Deep down in his mind, wanting to meet her again, but fearing their next encounter, wanting to find out why he had been so uneasy around her the other time, and why he wasn't right now. Something was wrong. The omnious presence that had made his beloved Pokemon faint that morning was now completely gone, vanished, like it was never there.

She didn't miss his constantly fluctuating expression or mood as he seemed to search for answers, but her main concern was why. The young woman nodded, though visibly passing off his hurried words and taking them in stride. "True enough. It would be nice to be able to eat out and actually enjoy it once and a while, wouldn't it?" she mused, smiling as she glanced down at their partners. Sagira and Inazuma seemed to be enjoying themselves so far, which was a nice change. It was rare when Sagira actually got a chance to simply socialize with other pokemon, aside from the ones on her team. Cadoc, Lemek, and Ian were Sagira's friends; yes, but sometimes one just had to talk with someone different. Hopefully the trainer's words were right, though.
"Mmmhmm. Hopefully so. But, I don't think I ever caught your name. Anything I should call you?" Kitty asked, descretely trying at the subject again. It was awkward to be in the position where she didn't know it, only making her feel even more odd. Being in the same position as Sagira, rarely allowed to socialize with others without being interrupted, she was now tapping the floor with the toe of her boot in a somewhat nervous gesture. While her social skills were passable, fluent when they had to be, just talking made her feel out of place. But eased some of the perpetual loneliness she felt, at least.

"All the time. Life's made to have fun, right? So why not enjoy myself? It makes me very happy when I get to spend lots of money and enjoy the ride." He laughed, trying to erase the subject of his name.
He discreetly threw a look at Kitty to try and analyse what she was feeling, but seeing the way she looked at him expectantly, he knew he had to introduce himself at some point.
After all, the inevitable must come one day.
Gradually, his laughter became shorter and more awkward, until it eventually died down. Sensing his masters distress, Inazuma quickly bounded to his side and looked up at him while the blonde looked down, eyes cloaked by his fringes.
"My name.... Right.... I forgot."
A tense silence followed around them, floating and making both the blonde and his Pokemon extremely uncomfortable. The teen bit his lip, then slowly opened his mouth to speak.
"I guess you.... could call me-"
"Sir, come get your card, it's all done!" the nurse suddenly screamed from behind, almost giving the blonde a heart attack as he whipped around and stared at her, shocked. His expression almost instantly melted into that laughing mask of his once more as he ran to the counter and picked up his card and thanked the nurse.
Just as he walked back to Kitty, though, his stomach rumbled, and his Luxray started whining, probably feeling hungry as well.
"Staaaaaarving~" he complained with a groan, holding his stomach. "I have to eat something, and STAT!" he looked around for the exit to the Pokemon Center. "Know any good, expensive, fancy restaurants around here?" he asked with his trademark grin.

Kitty paused at his words, brow noticeably arching in turn. Where had he come from, to view life like that? It wasn't a walk in the park, that was for sure. But he acted like it was nothing whatsoever, that everything was happy-go-lucky. If he thought life was a bed of roses, he obviously hadn't felt the thorns yet. However, her gaze remained vaguely expectant as he finally got around to mentioning his name. Only to stifle a sigh when one of the nurses startled him, abruptly changing the subject once more.
She sheepishly ran a hand through her short onyx locks at his question, before giving up on his name for now. It obviously wasn't coming yet. She'd just have to wait for it. "Erm ... I believe there was a restaurant a few blocks down. Not sure what it serves, though, so you'll have to decide whether you want it or not. But -" she started, only to be cut off by a familiar icy blue gaze. "... Great," she muttered, as Elliot was causally leaning against the Center wall now. Watching her with a vague semblance of amusement, arms crossed over his chest as he waited. She'd been lucky that he hadn't interrupted, though. "... Sorry, but I've got to go. If I don't, there'll be blood to pay," she said quietly, offering a short wave to him as she gestured to Sagira.
The Classy Cat nodded once to the other duo, but her once softened crimson gaze was nothing less than ruby-like when they settled upon the other blonde. "I take it you're ready to go, Kitty Cat," the young man observed, smiling faintly now.
"If only to get you out of my hair."
His jaw clenched, but there was nothing he could do in such a public place. And they both knew it. But they also knew that she'd get the repercussions later, even if for that one reproachful comment. Disrespect to either him or Garret earned her nothing but pain. But being a puppet for the rest of her life was not an appealing prospect, either.
"... Come along, then."

The assassin decided that the idea of a random restaurant sounded appealing enough to work, so, shrugging, and happy he didn't have to give his identity out just yet, he motionned to Inazuma to come along, as the electric lion wistfully threw a look at his new companion, who was already heading away.
The Luxray whined in disappointment, but followed anyway, brightened by the idea of real food for the first time in days. The two males watched from the corner of their eyes as Kitty talked to another blonde. The heavy air around them and their tense movements gave away the fact that they were extremely uncomfortable around each other.
Raising a brow, the blonde shrugged and walked past them, stopping right in front of the Center door before whipping around, waving his arms like a madman in Kitty's general direction, and facing the other man's back. Then, not caring if she saw him or not, he made a funny face at the other blonde's back, and, laughing, he ran out, his Luxray following behind with an exasperated, yet amused look in his eyes.

Pain cracked across her cheek as soon as they reached a secluded alleyway, Elliot's hand once again falling to his side as he continued walking. Sparing her a short glance in Kitty's direction, her lightly tanned skin now an angry shade of pink from his backhanded slap. Her jaded gaze was stoic, pointedly ignoring it. Making no motion to acknowledge the punishment for her disrespect, but he knew the point was clear enough. He didn't need to say a word. But he still found it oh so amusing ... After all, she knew that she belonged to him. A small smile touched the blonde assassin's lips, half wondering when she would finally submit. Kitty Cat had a will of steel, but even steel splintered under enough pressure after enough time.
"Why do you continue to try my will?"
"Because I am no one's puppet or plaything."
"You sealed your own fate the day you stole from my father."
"Everyone makes mistakes."
"And yours was permanent."
"Heh ..." she hissed under her breath, feeling his gaze casually scale her body once more as they neared the base of their mission. Nightfall would near soon enough. And then ... Then she'd be tasked with the first mission where she would have to kill if someone got in her way.

Inazuma whined as the two finished up their meal at the decent restaurant around the corner.
"Well, maybe it was her boyfriend." the assassin laughed out loud. "So that would mean Sagira's out of your league~" he teased, getting the Luxray to growl and then look away, his eyes pretty much saying "She's my first friend, gimme a break."
"Just teasing you, Inazuma." the blonde laughed as the bill was dropped off by a waitress.
"Excuse me sir, but your bill adds up to 5000 zen." the waitress gulped down as she watched all the empty dishes on their table, the Luxray having dissed the Pokemon food and having dug into human food as well.
"Inazuma, what's our budget for the entire trip again?" the assassin whispered low to his Pokemon.
The lion sweatdropped and made a small whine.
"Yeah, 3000 zen..." he thought out loud. "Oh well." he then shrugged and handed her the same card he'd used in the Pokemon Center. "Charge it on this please."
After paying, the two walked out, watching as the moon slowly replaced the sun.
"Ah, now, we can go enjoy a nice bath, then maybe have dessert, go around a bit, then catch some z's in the hotel room, right, Inazuma?" he asked with a laugh.
The Luxray stayed silent for once, then slowly directed his stare at the Team Rocket hideout, located a little further.
The teen's eyes darkened, now becoming deep blood red, and he sighed, switching paths and heading towards it.
"Killjoy."
